Wing Zone – Crunchable Dunkable Goodness

We love chicken wings! I mean, who doesn’t? But when you find a restaurant that does a mouth-watering variety for all kinds of taste buds from crunchy, yet non-spicy (something lacking in other famous chicken and chips brands), to set-your-tongue-aflame kinda spicy, to the good old classic buffalo wings, … and the list goes on and on – then we simply HAD to review WING ZONE.

CRISPY WINGS

The battered wings are a ‘Must-Try’! These would be the family favourite as they taste yummy with or without the sauces.

We tried them with Thai Chili & Mango Fire flavours and here is the verdict. If you like the Sweet chili sauce which is quite mild, go for Thai Chili flavour. But if you like Mango Pickle kinda kick – a little sour and a little spicy yet bearable, try the Mango Fire.

The flavours coat the crumbs on these wings, so the crispiness is retained.

ORIGINAL WINGS

If you like the flavour you choose to go well into the meat, then go for the Original, Skin-fried to perfection wings. These are your traditional chicken wings one would expect at a restaurant serving wings.

We dunked them in Lemon Zinger which was black pepper and a kick of lemon combined in a delicious sauce and Nuclear Habanero which set our tongues ablaze but was so worth it! The Nuclear Habanero is probably the spiciest flavour they do. It’s your regular Buffalo wings sauce plus lots of Tabasco and a whole lot of spices – not for the faint-hearted!

BONELESS WINGS

For those who don’t want to get their hands dirty, don’t like meat on bones or prefer the flavour to mildly coat the chunks of meat and NO skin!

These would be great for children and for those who prefer a meaty texture. These wings absorb less flavour than the original ones so you can brave it with the zingier sauces.

BURGERS

And if you would rather eat a burger than chicken wings, you can STILL head down to WING ZONE. They had a choice between a grilled chicken burger and a premium hand-crafted Australian beef burger.

We tried the latter and were pleasantly surprised at how tender the patty was. It’s a meat-lover’s dream – although we would have liked for it to be a tad spicier.

WHICH ‘SIDE’ TO GO FOR?

We tried the Kettle chips, Crinkle-cut wedge fries and Mozzarella sticks.

The wedges were an instant winner with us, while we took our time with the Kettle chips flavour. It gradually grew upon us as we attempted to douse the spiciness off our tongues. The interesting fact about the Kettle chips is, that not only are they made fresh in-house, they retain their crispiness for up to 8 hours (we’re thinking take-away or home-delivery here!) As for the Mozzarella sticks – they were exploding with stringy Mozzarella coated in crispy crumbs. We dunked them in Salsa to jazz them up a bit. They’re sure to be a hit with your children!

BROWNIE BITES

Don’t judge a book by its cover.

Although we weren’t too impressed with the presentation and appearance of these, they were surely a love-at-first-bite experience!

They are warm, ‘fried’, and hence, a little crispy, yet gooey in the centre and they just melt in your mouth. Need we say more?
