5 Minute Makeup Tips to Keep you Glowing All Day Long!
Makeup. It’s all about perfection and flawlessness, right? Wrong!
We believe makeup is all about enhancing the positives to create a glow and radiance that stays with you throughout the day! So, after years of experience and inspiration from some of the biggest makeup gurus worldwide, here are our top five super-quick, super-simple makeup hacks for a glowing everyday look!
1. Moisturise and Protect First
Always, always, always start with a good moisturiser and sunscreen! It will save your skin. After all, the last thing you want is dry, sun-burnt patches all over your face. The sun’s rays are harmful even when it’s cloudy. This puts you at risk of skin cancer and various other skin-related complications. An easy way to get around this problem is to simply use a moisturiser containing SPF (Sun protecting factor). Anything less than SPF 30 is hardly protective so make sure you check the bottle.
One of our favourites is the SIMPLE Kind to Skin + Moisture Cream SPF 30. It’s great for extremely sensitive skin and lasts day-long.
A great sunscreen is the Glossier Invisible Shield Sunscreen which comes in SPF 35. This is great for brown skin as it protects you from the sun without turning your skin a dull grey colour, (which you might have experienced with most sunscreens). A dupe for this is the No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Facial Sunscreen collection in SPF 15, 30 and 50. This also comes in a tinted BB cream version.
2. Break Bronzing Boundaries
Use the same bronzer shade on your cheek bones, jawline, nose and even as an eyeshadow. You can use any matte bronzer lightly in the crease of your eyelid with a small fluffy brush. This will give your face an effortless, natural, warm, toned look.
The Hoola Matte Bronzer by Benefit Cosmetics is a classic favorite. It is neither too orange, nor too ashy and can be used as a light contour.
3. Cheer Up with a Cheeky Blush
Use a light lipstick as blusher on your cheeks. A cream lipstick or tinted lip balm will do the job almost better than your regular blush. Simply smile, then pop the colour onto the apples of your cheeks and blend it in with your fingers to dissipate the pigment to create a naturally flushed look. This works well for everyday – no makeup days.
We love the Smashbox L.A. Lights Lip & Cheek Color. It’s especially made for this two-in-one purpose. Any mineral cream or lipstick will work just as well.
Step up your glam-to-go game with the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge Collection – a sophisticated formula to fit all your needs, whatever the occasion.

4. A Little Highlighter Glows a Long Way
On natural days you can go for a soft glow. Place a dot of face cream on the back of your hand and mix it with highlighter using the tip of your finger. Apply and blend onto your cheekbones, brow bone and nose by dotting and lightly tapping to blend out any excess. This will enhance your features as well as give you a radiant glow throughout the day.
ICONIC LONDON Liquid Illuminators are a good option as they carry less glitter. They also mix into creams and foundations fairly easily.
5. Pucker Up and Perfect that Pout
For lipstick, opt for a muted-pink, peach or brown, depending on your skin tone. Simply apply over your lips as usual and blot with a thin piece of tissue. This softens the colour and removes excess formula which would otherwise transfer or smudge during the day whilst eating or drinking. This tip gives you long-lasting lip colour.
Too Faced Natural Nude lipsticks are perfect for naturally coloured lip colour. They work well with all skin tones
