Bumble Dating App – Be First, Be Smart, Be Priyanka!

Ever heard of a “Ladies First” in a dating app?

Well, roll up your sleeves and get ready to see online dating trends changing in India with BUMBLE! Who is behind this “women empowerment” initiative? It’s none other than the newly-wed (and there were many newly-weds this year) who has broken many stereotypes and will become “partner, advisor, and investor” to this feminist dating app.

You guessed it right! We are talking about Priyanka Chopra.

WHAT IS THE NOISE ABOUT?

Is it just another dating app? Not quite!

This is a first-of-its-kind networking app which requires women to make the first move. Bumble’s expansion into India will make women feel safe using dating apps. In the coming weeks, Bumble will roll out specific features to enhance safety protections, which already include photo verification and photo and profile moderation by a team of more than 4,000 people.

SO IT’S A BIT DIFFERENT! NONETHELESS, … IT IS A DATING APP, RIGHT?

Wrong again! The app has the following features which shows it is NOT just a matchmaking site.

Date, BFF, Bizz

While Bumble provides an online platform to meet and date potential partners, it does much more.

Bumble can help you make friends online in a new city via Bumble BFF.

On Bumble Bizz, you can pursue a career change, meet collaborators, or become a mentor.

WHAT WOMEN WANT!

In a statement from Bumble, Chopra said, “Women want love, they want friendship and they want to find a career, and that’s the uniqueness of what Bumble delivers – a digital community that encompasses all that, while empowering women to take charge of their lives.”

WHAT GOES ON IN THE BEEHIVE?

Now this feature we love!

The Bumble Beehive gives us a full-blown section devoted to blogs and articles from “How Bumble BFF Can Help You Connect with Fellow Moms” to “Halloween Costume Ideas for Every Match, 4 Ways to Find a Mentor Who Can Help Shape Your Career” to “Get off the Bench and Join the Team as an LA Clippers Intern”

Contributors can submit their success stories and there are links to international blogs from UK, AUSTRALIA, GERMANY, FRANCE, CANADA and NETHERLANDS. And surely INDIA will join soon after the launch of the app there. (The company has announced that they will be launching in India before 2018 draws to a close.)

SO HOW WILL PRIYANKA CREATE A BUZZ WITH BUMBLE IN INDIA?

A strategic move on Priyanka’s part as Bumble is all set to launch in India. The last 9 months have been spent laying the groundwork from building a local team, defining a go-to-market strategy to engaging in-market key partners. The dating app will also tweak specific features to cater to local user experience, according to a report in Financial Express. The app will be made available on iOS and android in both Hinglish and Hindi. Valued at more than $1 billion, as per Forbes, Bumble had 22 million users by November 2017, 46.2% of its users being female. Now we’re talking!

Facts aside, from what we are seeing online and what Priyanka promises to have in-store isn’t just a regular dating app. You can have a laugh, find friends, have fun reading, get inspired, add value and grow a business through this versatile app while staying safe.
