Atiqa Odho  has many firsts behind her, but that hasn’t stopped her from going ahead and launching the very first known celeb brand of cosmetics in Pakistan! An icon in modeling, television and cosmetics, with a career spanning over three glamorous decades, Atiqa Odho ventured into the beauty business in 2004 to revolutionize the cosmetics industry in Pakistan. Using her experience in the capacity of a professional stylist with world-renowned academies, such as Complections International-UK, Toni & Guy-UK & Grease Paint-UK, Atiqa Odho launched her very own brand. Being a celebrity, she has the power to influence people and she is using it for the betterment of the society. Let’s see what she thinks about women empowerment!

Atiqa Odho, Woman of Substance

What does Women’s Day mean to you?

Women’s Day is a symbolic celebration for us to remind ourselves that we are an important part of our society. A strong pillar that holds communities together.

One thing Western women can teach Asian women. (Or vice versa).

East and west both have their strengths and challenges. All women suffer from similar personal and professional life challenges. So rather than teach each other things we should just support each other and appreciate each other for who we are. Respect is the key ingredient that shall help build a global sisterhood.

Your female role model in current times.

I have been blessed to have so many role models to look up to in my life. Any human being that is honest, hardworking and seeks to constantly grow as a person inspires me.

One hardship you faced in your path to success.

There were many challenges but thank God I stayed strong and focused to survive them and succeed in what I believed in.

Atiqa Odho, Women of Substance

One thing you would do, if you were a man for a day.

I can’t think of anything as I’ve lived my life not focusing on my gender but instead focusing on my capabilities as a professional in which ever field I stepped into.

One thing we can teach Pakistani men.

I don’t think we should teach or preach to others when there is so much we must improve within ourselves first.

Fill in the blanks

A woman’s place is in the world

A song that describes you best

Dil Dil Pakistan

Atiqa Odho is a living example of the word ‘women empowerment’. She is utilizing her skills to empower other women through her cosmetic line and raising her voice on health and social issues faced by Pakistani women. More power to you Atiqa!!!!
