Instagram is the New Netflix on the Block – Do you follow Swineryy?

Is Instagram the new Netflix on the Block with Swineryy as the hit show?

This Insta account is gaining strength and followers day by day. With many different characters voicing many stories – the one that seems to be most popular with the followers is our super opinionated Gossip aunt who can’t stop lamenting over Shazia’s daughter.

For those who are new to the story, Shazia’s daughter represents all young unmarried girls who are living life to the fullest in a sheher crawling with ‘Aunt Gossip’.

Whether it is meeting a friend (boy) near Marriot hotel, taking a walk in the park, or gaining a few kilos, she encounters judgement at every step.

The stories are short, sometimes just 10 seconds long but with a strong punch line.

Humour delivers loaded shades of sarcasm from avocado ka halva to the aunty coffee parties

We assume followers love her  updates so much because everyone has, or knows such an aunty in their circle.  Or maybe they see themselves in the character.  Swineryy allows us a quiet chance to laugh at ourselves and the idiosyncrasies within our society – this is what makes the characters so endearing and hilarious

We for one, can keep watching our favourite Aunt Gossip on repeat as the vivid facial expressions mimic the full-on judgemental tone.

But now that Shazia’s daughter is engaged to be married soon, what else can we expect from the busy Gossip Aunt?

Swineryy Instagram followers are eagerly following updates on the same and so are we.

Here’s the question in our minds:

1. Will Shazia be the next new character on Swinnery. Coz’ we’d really like to hear what she has to say about Aunt Gossip?

2. Does Shazia’s mom have a take on Aunt Gossip

3. Will Aunt Gossip attend Shazia’s wedding, and what’s the next story brewing?

If Cheekh, Suno Chanda 2 and GOT aren’t up your alley, Swineryy might be the best time-pass for the Insta-generation!

P.S. There are more characters mouthing ludicrous and unspeakable truths behind amusing caricatures, so grab your popcorn and hit your Insta feed before turning in for the night.

A good dose of laughter never hurt anyone.  Even if it is ourselves we are laughing at!

With politicians advising each other to commit suicide in the not-so-recent past – A phrase hits home hard in these times … ‘There’s no point in crying over the state of affairs – so let’s just laugh it out’!
