Yeh Dil Mera Episode 1 finally opened to much anticipation. The teasers had stirred up just the right mix of controversy and interest to guarantee that the first episode would have enough views. Add to that, the return of ‘Sahad’ onscreen, and the first episode has rightly hit over 3 Million views on YouTube so far.

What’s there not to love about this serial so far? Let’s give you 6 Things we loved About Yeh Dil Mera. So catch up on the first episode before the second one drops this week!

1. The Return of Sahad.

Top viewer comment here: ‘I love this drama because Ahad & Sajal are together!”

Yes, need we say more? It was an absolute treat to welcome the duo back on screen. While Sajal sported ‘pretty young thing’ looks in college, Ahad (the heart throb for many young viewers), woke us up with a cool, sinister appearance that kept us puzzled, yet engaged. More on that in point no. 4.

2. Adnan Siddiqui’s New Look

The beard and ‘twirled at the edges’ moustache matched the cool, calm, calculated exterior. Adnan is playing Sajal’s over-protective father. But there’s more to him than meets the eye. His new look, complete with shades caught our interest for sure – waiting to know more about his character in upcoming episodes.

3. Mystery, Suspense, Thriller?

Yeh Dil Mera Episode 1 has caught our attention because a) the story line is a bit ‘hut ke’ from the other drama scripts rolling this season. The story is not just about romance, not just about seeking a spiritual meaning in life, neither is it about young college students – though all these elements are present in the episode, they are, but props to a larger story. And b) The director hints at a past, and we’re intrigued to find out where it’s all leading. The episode has almost guaranteed second episode viewership. Connecting the dots is as important for the actors as it is for the viewers now – we’ll be watching for sure, and we think so will you!

“I love it that it has a back story,” says one fan. “It seems so fresh!”

4. Ahad’s Performance

Ahad’s acting was superb from the get-go. He switched personas with calculated ease; at one moment, we catch him as the guy who’s smitten with a young girl, and then again, we see a man with a hidden agenda. Sinister much? he carried off both roles with style – but then, we wouldn’t expect any less from our star performer – Ahad Raza Mir, you have our attention and we’re waiting to see where you go from here.

As one viewer commented: “Ahad’s character giving Hamlet vibes n he aced it!”

5. Sajal’s Many Looks!

Well, if it’s Sajal on the screen, we HAVE to comment on the look, BECAUSE! We just can’t decide where she looks cutest – help us out, please!

6. Location, location, location.

We’re still wondering where the drama was actually shot. Some breathtaking locations and lots of green hitting the eye!

Drama fans gave it their best guesses: Islamabad, Bahria Town Karachi? and some even suggested Grove street San Andreas!

It’s just the first episode and the serial seems promising. Let’s hope we get to see engaging script, dialogue and situations that keep Yeh Dil Mera in the game! Many superb dramas are vying for our attention, and the competition seems to be getting harder as the episodes roll by!
