iqra aziz, jhooti drama

ARY’s new drama “Jhooti” starring Iqra Aziz, Yasir Hussain and Ahmed Ali Butt started airing on 1st February 2020.

A little back story – Iqra plays a woman who is forcefully married off to a shopkeeper played by Ahmed Ali Butt, (who she does not connect with), and ends up falling in love with another character played by Yasir Hussain. In order to get her husband out of her life, she makes a series of allegations against him and the drama reveals the rest.

For those of you who watched the teaser, and haven’t watched the drama yet, we’ve got your backs. Sachi baat yeh hai, ke drama tou humne bhi nahi dekha, and we too needed to know if it was worth the watch. So we decided to take to Twitter to see what everyone’s saying

I HATE PAKISTANI DRAMASS..THIS NEW #JHOOTI drama is villainizing the right of women of stating conditions on their niqah-nama, on deciding a good amount of Haq meher, division of assets etc. When you dont let the girl work for herself, she needs monetary security some wayy ffs!

Some people made pretty valid points!

Hmmm … Jhooti is giving Pakistani dramas a bad name. The rights of women are not to be taken lightly, we agree!

Such a Drama Queen Mann!!!!
Kitniiiiii #Jhooti hai Yee Ufff..😂 pic.twitter.com/W84BAzKPrq

Iqra’s character is standing true to her name but Twitter isn’t happy with that!

Contradiction – that’s just a drama to give inheritance to sons only.

This one’s a little different

Okaayyy so what’s the plot? This doesn’t sound too good, especially with Women’s Day approaching.

My God this #Jhooti drama is simply horrible. I have never disliked Iqra's work this much. It seems writer's inspiration for this was old starplus vamps the komolika type.

And then this! We reckon if you’re a StarPlus fan, this one’s for you, and if not, don’t touch it with a ten foot pole?

This drama is so dumb with a pointless storyline #jhooti

— Hamzah Bhuta (@Hamzah_Bhuta) February 22, 2020

In a nutshell: Jhooti is low on IQ – not for the brainy in you!

This jhooti drama is nothing but a useless piece of shit.

Oops, harsh words indeed, but we haven’t watched so we can’t really agree, or disagree with this one!

Ye kya jahilun wala drama hai??? Jhooti????

— Ennanana (@Enna_Ejaz) February 15, 2020
Oooh, thora ziada nahi hogaya?

The venom is spewing forth. What has Jhooti done to deserve such intense emotion?

Irresponsible choice from ARY and Iqra Aziz. Such a storyline is not needed in a society where women are already not believed when they say they've been harassed/raped/beaten. I'm hoping there's more to this drama than how it seems right now. Show ka naam bhi 'jhooti' hai🤦🏻‍♀️ https://t.co/bt7t10W9KD

Finally, someone explains it without getting the emotion get the better of them. Apparently, this one should really NOT be on our watch list!

We think its safe to say that the drama Jhooti is a miss. The story could’ve gone in a much better direction, but unfortunately that’s not happening. Shayad baad mai story thori pick up hou, but we doubt it.

So when you’re in bed on a Saturday night, this is not the drama you should be watching..
