Unfortunately the Corona Virus is on the rise and has spread further and wider than most of us would have imagined and we all need to take precautionary measures to ensure that we remain safe and healthy and our immune systems are prepared to take on and beat any virus that (God forbid) may come our way.

One of the easiest things that we can do to keep us on the top of our game is watch what we put into our bodies. There are so many natural ingredients that have anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties and are right in our reach, bas hum thori zehmat karlain.

Some of the natural ingredients include ginger, citrus fruits, spinach etc. Sawaal yeh hia, ke inko istemaal kaise kiya jaye? Well we’ve got a few ideas for you..

1. Orange, Ginger and Turmeric Smoothie

Orange Tumeric, immune

2 oranges, peeled and seeded
Pinch of cinnamon powder
Small piece of ginger
Small piece of turmeric
¼ cup milk or coconut milk
½ cup water
2 tbsp rolled oats
Pinch of black pepper
Honey to taste (optional)

Method:

Put all the ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. Add in more or less water depending on the consistency you like.  Serves 2.

2. Turmeric and Ginger Latte

Tumeric latte, cinnamon, ginger, immune

A warming drink to support your immune system that you can have instead of tea or coffee.  This is so quick, easy and simple to make at home, so no excuses for not trying it.  If you do not have fresh turmeric or ginger you can use the dried one.

Ingredients:

Small piece of ginger, about 1.5 inch
Small piece of turmeric, about 1.5 inch
2.5 cups unsweetened almond milk
1/3 cup coconut milk
½ tsp cinnamon powder
Pinch of black pepper
Honey or maple syrup (optional and add to taste)

Method:

Blend all the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Next pour into a pan and bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for 3-4 minutes.

Pour into mugs and sprinkle with some cinnamon powder over.  Serves 2.

3. Juice bars

Greeno, oranges, immune

GreenO is one of the most popular juice bars in Karachi, and in Lahore Health N’ Goodness is a fantastic place. These places are the best for those people who are always on the go, or perhaps those who want to laze around and not make a concoction up themselves. Juice bars always have combinations that include ginger, spinach or citrus fruits and even if they don’t, apni taraf se add karwaa he saktay hain.

We hope you liked the recipes and take into account the seriousness of keeping your health game on point. Are there any other ways you recommend to use immunity boosters? Let us know in the comments below!
