Comedy Couple – Have you heard of this one? Winters are here (well, nearly), and that clearly indicates that the season of movie nights is also here. (It’s never a no movie nights season though, but winter, you have to agree, has its own aura).
Since OTT platforms have made life a breeze and we can execute our movie nights with much ease and comfort now, the task at hand is to merely select a movie that matches our mood.
Comedy Couple just made your life easier this time.
Comedy Couple is a new movie in Planet Bollywood !
and people (including me) cannot get over the kind of content it serves up.
One element which is keeping Indian Film and Television Industry evergreen in the minds of new age audiences (despite losing its golden era) is its perpetual focus on teenagers and young adults. We find a lot of TV shows, web series, and movies raising issues that resonate with the youth… executed with their own perspectives, and highlighting their own emotions (rightly).
Breathtaking Romance Of Deep & Zoya will make you fall for them!
A die hard romantic (me) finds romance in every story and every situation created by nature. Can you expect some breathtaking romantic moments from a non-serious comedy couple? If not… then you’re in for a surprise, because Deep and Zoya will make you believe that love can handle every situation in the gentlest and wisest of ways. Don’t believe us? Let’s give you a peak into their lives.
There are precious (and relatable) moments where they just talk to each other freely, bila jhijak, and when they argue with feverish intensity, yet with love in their eyes, are just beautiful.
Comedy Couple is another story that will attract a teenage audience.
Starring the very talented Saqib Saleem and Shweta Basu (who play the couple) is a Zee5 Film directed by Nachiket Samant. The story revolves around Deep Sharma and Zoya Batra who are happily in love with each other. They work as stand up comedians and are famous as The Comedy Couple. They aren’t married so they’re having trouble finding a house!
The humour and comic situations that transpire are actually relatable and do not seem to be forced (a common cause for lament in many comedy series). Also, unlike many other Bollywood rom-coms of recent times, it is not dishing out vulgarity over romance. This is another reason we are leaning in to the romantic moments between Deep and Zoya.
Fact, Fact, Fact!
It is not a proper love story which will leave you in tears at the end. Nor does it hold a tragic ending…Hey! Did I give away a spoiler? No worries, being a part of the journey, you won’t miss out on the fun. Anyways, It basically portrays a couple who fight with each other and against themselves, their personalities, the flaws they naturally inherited from their parent’s personalities, and their childhood.
The Much Needed Discussion On Parenting Is Raised By Youngsters!
Along with gifting us the best Romantic Comedy of the month, it also raises some social issues which give a lot of food for thought. From Parenting, to The Importance of Trust In A Relationship and how trust should be maintained, From Religious Discrimination with Muslims in India, to How the Media creates Raayi Ka Pahaar over small issues. The story continues to initiate conversations by allowing us to share in the beautiful journey of the young couple.
The best way to create awareness in a society is to create awareness among the youth. In the subcontinental region, where the youth has a huge impact on the society, merely due to the vast numbers in population, to create content that impacts youth and addresses their issues should be the best policy to bring about change. Through the dark remnants of Deep and Zoya’s pasts, they are now able to take decisions on the basis of their past and also future.
A girl from a broken marriage and a boy who has experienced poverty and domestic violence – a story that binds these two together is perhaps one of the most beautiful elements of the film.
In short, the film provides a complete package of romance, social issues, a well-knitted story, great direction, and easily digestible comedy and wit.
