5 Reasons Why The Dunk Teaser Is Killing It!

Dunk Drama – The Teaser That Will Make You Watch The Drama!

Ary Digital and Big Bang Entertainment dropped the madly awaited Dunk Drama teaser and fans have their first look – finally! Yes, the teaser is out and we think it’s LIT! Drama Teasers normally ride on a lyrical OST, dramatic cut sequences where kahin ki baat kahin shuruh hoti hai aur kahin aur khatam – but this teaser is not following the trail.

The teaser drop was solid – yes, that’s a very desi term for a teaser that is both eye-opening and attention grabbing at the same time – lost for a term that expresses it better, so solid it is!

Why it’s piqued our interest from the get go? Other than the awesome pairing of Sana Javed whose Ruswai still has us, and Bilal Abbas (still swooning over Pyar Ke Sadqay)?…there’s more than meets the eye in DUNK!

1. Nouman Ijaz is Playing it Like a Pro

This actor is showing us how a manjha huwa khilari approaches the wicket, takes his time to get into position and then play his game according to the batting position he’s at. Excuse us for the Cricket parallel but Nouman Ijaz owned the role in those stupendous 49 seconds with expressions that speak volumes!

2. The Intensely Intense Vibes Had Us Glued

The screen transited from one frame to another in swift cut scenes, unrolling the story line in fragmented yet, well- connected sequence. Was it the awaami feel of the sets or the impactful persona of all 4 actors – Bilal Abbas, Sana Javed, Yusra Rizvi, and Nouman Ijaz each commanding the eye to stay on them, yet move to the next one!

3. Powerfully Scripted 49 Seconds

When his daughter turns around to shrug off her dad, with a ‘Don’t touch me’ or when Sana Javed (Amal) declares that he’s lying, when Yasra turns with a skeptical look on her face to Bilal Abbas’ (Haider) sentence pronouncing justice … the teaser has laid bare open, the precise narrative and yet, aroused curiosity in a transparent attempt at showing us exactly what the story is about. Is he guilty? Is he innocent? We’re not sure, but we want to find out!

4. Impactful Scenes

From the glass shattering to the chapal hitting Nouman on the head, the multi coloured banners to the blackened face – the teaser has nailed the intensity of the subject under the spotlight. Make no mistake, Dunk drama is about harassment and the entire team will ensure that baat achi tarha samajh mein aayee – no grey areas in the 49 seconds on screen and we assume, episode 1 will be a block buster!

5. The Story Line

And last but definitely not the least – writer Mohsin Ali of Ishqiya and director Badar Mehmood of drama Cheekh and Balaa are not cutting edges in depicting a very serious topic, and one which has played out multiple times in online discussions on social media in Pakistan and India.

The supporting line-up is no less exciting and includes Azekah Daniel (Minal) and Fahad Sheikh (Safeer).

It is refreshing to see Pakistani drama content hitting a new high with shows that have a finger on the pulse of the nation.

Let’s hope that the scripting aces the plot with direction to match (which seems superlative so far in a teaser clocking under one minute)! Till then, fans eagerly anticipate the first episode and the year certainly just took a turn for the better!
