Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi – The story that has us every Monday night! If you still haven’t started watching, please do, because you will hear about this drama throughout the drama season, be unable to participate in drama conversations, feel left out, and miss out on a gripping story line wrapped in a spell-binding narrative.
Stellar performances from the entire cast including the child actors, is making this venture a heart stopping watch.
Standing ovation in particular to Yumna Zaidi & Omair Rana! Spectacular guftugoo there with Aunty jee, Zulfi sahab, you nailed your game. And Sumbul, what can we say about your lackadaisical pose as you contemplated your past & present with Zulfi in attendance, your interaction with the Dr. Sahab and your general spiritless gait, deep thought and moments of confusion mixed with cynicism that defined your character so aptly in every move.
Thori si umeed?
Is Zulfi the devil pretending to be pious or is he really an angel in disguise?
2012 is not so distant in the past, yet the harsh reality of girls not being allowed to play sports just by virtue of their gender, hits home even today.
Finally, can pichal parri as Jamshed be reunited through the animal shelter?
What happens next?
Will Sumbul meet with Aunty’s wrath or warmth? How will Sawera & Zulfi help her escape? We are impatient to witness how events unfold and also, connect the dots on how the stories come together!
Will Allah Rakhi be sold off by her family to save Sadia’s marriage? And what of poor Naseem Zehra … the desire for girls to play sports might seem trivial to some, but it is among the basic human rights granted to all children – our boys and girls.
The message of Polio eradication has been brought home so sensitively, minus loud banners, or rooftop announcements – Polio needs to be eradicated, it is the right of every child to live disease free when we have the means, and DNUTN showed that flawlessly in the brief, yet impactful, shoe fitting segment.
Last but not the least, the animal care center awakened us to the rights of every living creature. We are the protectors, not the harassers…a gentle reminder to each & everyone of us.
