PSL 6 Commentary Panel: The Men & Women Who Are Rocking The Game Off The Ground

The commentary panel for the month-long PSL 6 has been keeping us entertained off the ground! Sports Presenters are driving the game with a swag that matches those on the field – read about them here!

With PSL 6 being watched onscreen this year more than ever before – it’s COVID after all – a majority of us will be spectating from our screens, hence panel dynamics & cricket commentary take top spot!

Pakistani commentators synonymous with the league including Bazid Khan, Ramiz Raja, Sana Mir and Urooj Mumtaz will be doing bi-lingual commentary while renowned Urdu commentator Tariq Saeed and Sikandar Bakht will be part of the panel as Urdu commentators,”

So let’s give you the inside on commentators who’ll keep us entertained throughout the one month long event!

1. Alan Wilkins

Alan Wilkins has been a presenter and commentator on PSL for sometime. Having covered many sports tournaments such as the Wimbledon, T20 and world cups, his expert opinions intermingled with a spirited attempt to insert Urdu phrases has endeared him to cricket fans!

2. Bazid Khan

Bazid Khan is former cricketer and current commentator. He’s part of the commentary Panel of the league since the inaugural season of the PSL.

3. Daniel Kyle Morrison

Daniel Kyle Morrison is a New Zealand cricket commentator and former cricketer. He is known for his uncanny style of commentary which is loved by millions, he’s one of the most popular Commentators in league cricket because of his humorous take on what’s happening on, and off the field!

4. Sana Mir

Sana Mir, one of Pakistan’s icon’s, is set to bring to us her expansive knowledge of cricket! Sadly, last, year she retired from international cricket but that doesn’t mean she’s stepping away from the game. Sana has much to contribute in the commentary & social activism arena. She has been joining hands with organizations to further the cause of young girls’ education & sports options! Catch her comments on PSL 6 as she presents with the same gusto off the field!

5. David Gower

The Big News off the field for PSL 6 was that former England captain-turned-commentator David Gower is among a group of foreign commentators participating in the Pakistan Super League’s commentary panel for the tournament.

Gower, 63, will be part of the broadcasts for the Karachi leg of the competition, which lasts from February 20 until March 7 when the tournament moves to Lahore. So catch him before it’s too late!

6. JP Duminy

Duminy will be  joining the commentary panel for the second leg of PSL in Lahore. He made his debut in the commentary world last year in Indian Premier League (IPL). As he’s fresh off the field, we expect some fun commentary to keep us hooked!

7. Pommie Mbangwa

Mbangwa is a Zimbabwean former right hand fast bowler and a renowned commentator. He’s known for his unique commentary style. Loving the mix from all over the globe – more like a World commentary panel this!

8. Urooj Mumtaz

As a former player she has a good grip on shortcomings on the field. Urooj has also been working in Sports programs for many years and has a unique way with words. Her distinct manner of match analysis makes her stand out.

9. Dominic Cork

Dominic Cork returned to Pakistan after the incident in Lahore in 2009 last year for PSL 5. He finds PSL to be one of the best T20 leagues. Here’s what he has to say:

A strong t20 league, that has some of the most talented and exciting homegrown players. Excellent overseas players too

10. Ramiz Raja

Ramiz, A.K.A. Rambo, is known for his distinguished style of commentating. Pakistanis and the international audience love him too!

Ramiz adds a level to his presenting by taking on the cricketers in English & Urdu. We love the energy he brings with him – always up for his commentary!

11. Zainab Abbas

Zainab Abbas is a Pakistani television host, sports presenter, and former makeup artist.

She is considered to be the first Pakistani woman sports presenter on the global level. In 2019, Abbas became the first Pakistani female presenter in the International Cricket Council’s Cricket World Cup.

To quote Zainab, PSL is like Eid. You feel the same festive vibes & love (for cricket) is in the air! We’re loving it too. Two thumbs up for carving a niche in a predominantly male arena – here’s to many more firsts from her.

12. Simon Doull

Lastly we have Simon Doull. Simon has a distinctive and fresh perspective, not only on the game itself but also on the players. So we’re excited to watch him give us the best of his opinions on what’s happening on the field!

13. Sikander Bakht

Sikandar Bakht is giving us Urdu Commentary, and he also worked as media manager with several League Franchises. Bakht joins us in this year’s PSL commentary Panel, he’ll be performing his duties along with Tariq Saeed.

14. Tariq Saeed

Tariq Saeed is Sports Correspondent, cricket broadcaster who played the significant role of Urdu Commentator in many domestic tournaments like Quaid e Azam trophy, Pakistan Cup and National t20 Cup. Last year was his PSL commentary debut.
