5 Actors stood out for us this week. Srha Asgar in Aakhir Kub Tuk & Hadiqa Kiani in Raqeeb Se stole out hearts along with others!

1. Srha Asgar in Aakhir Kub Tuk

Srha delivered an impressive performance with very few dialogues but more of her expressions & body language. Her portrayal of a girl traumatized by her parents’ relationship was convincing & touched our heart.
2. Hadiqa Kiani in Raqeeb Se

Hadiqa Kiani as Sakina in Raqeeb Se – kissing Hajra, wiping the blood from the carpet & then sitting by the door & lamenting on how she has let others rule her life, kept us teary-eyed throughout. We saw a desperate mother, a woman who finally saw herself in the mirror, detached from all her obligations, & a thakki huwee aurat – Hadiqa you were all that and more!
3. Faryal Mehmood as Insha

Zabardast, zabardast is all we have to say. From questioning Maqsood Sahib to apologizing to Hajra – Faryal Mehmood ruled the episode without doubt. We cried with her & we also rooted for her when she signed the khula papers. We felt her pain when she asked Maqsood Sahib why he failed to make a connection with her and we applauded her courage when she told Abdur Rehman – it’s not about lost love, but about lost respect.
4. Sania Saeed in Raqeeb Se

Sania jee aap expressions ki malika hain, hum kiya bolain … hum to bus jadoo main khoye as Hajra cried with Maqsood Sahib, as she reveals the truth to Insha & as she hugs Sakina.
5. Navid Shehzad as Aunty in Dil Na Umeed To Nahin

The beauty of her performance is such that despite her evil character, we felt for Aunty jee as she was completely side-lined by Baray Sahib. Her character has taken over a place in our minds & hearts – we cannot imagine anyone else as aunty. Playing a grey character and being loved for it is no small feat indeed – Aunty jee struck a balance like no other!
