Rafta Rafta - The song that could have been a blockbuster, but didn't quite make it! With Sajal Aly & Atif Aslam in one frame, we expected the moon, the stars and the entire kainaat to come together with an earth shattering, thunderous applause. Sajal Aly & Atif Aslam in Rafta Rafta Music Video Image Credits: still from Rafta Rafta However The song reaction has been a bit of a challenge to put out because it is hard to register the disappointment. The very average song composition, lack lustre video direction, weak storyline & a contrived Punjabi mix failed to ignite the fireworks we were hoping for. Set against a stunning backdrop to strike a romantic cord among the super romantic within us, the song failed to meet us halfway - why? Cliched frames of hot chocolate before a fire, lighted camping pods and a dress that went on for miles & miles could not cover up for the complete lack of story line, more creative angles and substance in the narrative that didn't quite unfold onscreen. When Atif Aslam broke into Punjabi, it somehow felt contrived. Not that we have anything against switching languages mid song, it has been done many times and with flair. This one seemed to be an attempt to drive in audiences unfortunately and took away from the overall ambience, setting and lyrics. Unfortunately, monumental talent & potential might have been wasted. Did you feel the same? Atif Aslam & Sajal Aly Share The Twitter Love In Anticipation Of Rafta Rafta Release
