Let’s face it. Applying foundation can be a little tough. Make sure it’s not too pigmented, making sure it’s not cakey or flakey and the list goes on and on! We recently came across a few hacks to help apply foundation flawlessly so, we bring those tips to you to help ease you makeup process. Are you ready?
Let’s commence with the tips
1. Primer, Primer Primer – What Will We Do Without It?
Primer should already be your must have and the first step, after sunscreen of course. Primer corrects blemishes, blurs out scars and pores. It also absorbs the excess oil and sebum on your face – so bye bye oily texture! So, applying it gives the perfect skin texture for your foundation. It also hold it together in one place, so no cakey texture for sure!
2. Match The Foundation Texture To Your Skin Type
Yes, don’t rush in to the cosmetics store and pick up the first product you see. Test the foundation. If you have dry skin, go for a velvety texture. As for dry skin, go for a water based matte foundation.
If needed, consult a dermatologist for the best recommendation
3. Go For A Damp Sponge
Whether you use a beauty blender or a sponge, make sure to soak it, squeeze it and then use it. Then, with a tissue, clean the areas you feel are damp and then apply foundation (in thin layers) for a great coverage.
4. Set it With Some Setting Powder
Setting powder, loose powder, whatever you choose to call it, helps put the foundation in place, preventing smudging. It absorbs excess oil too.
Best way to apply:
Apply a thick layer on the T-zone, under the cheekbones and under the eyes and let it bake for a while. With clean brush, dust off the excess powder and you’re good to go! It’ll cover up any creases and give you a flawless foundation look, lasting for hours!
5. Setting Spray – If You Don’t Have It, Buy It!
With these simple steps, you can ace the flawless foundation! Try now and let us know how it went!
