The second annual Pakistan International Screen Awards (PISA’21) is set to take place at the stunning Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, on November 5th, 2021. The exciting list of the 24 award categories for PISA ’21 has been announced along with the nominees and we’re glad to see a lot of our favourites on it! Moreover, it’s refreshing to see that PISA is now (finally) giving digital creators their due diligence and has five award categories dedicated to honouring their efforts in the digital landscape in promoting a positive image of Pakistan.

Today, I’m going to list down my favourite digital creators from each of the categories they’re nominated in, in an effort to encourage you, the reader, to cast your vote when the voting lines open. To find out the other nominations in the following categories click here. Meanwhile, enjoy reading who I’ll be voting for and feel free to tell me who your favourite contender is!
Swineryy – Most Entertaining Instagram Celebrity
I think we can all agree that Swineryy is by far one of the most talented and hilarious Pakistanis online. Her ability to stay anonymous while simultaneously entertaining us with a barrage of very unique and highly animated characters is admirable. Definitely, a worthy nomination for the PISA’21 ‘Most Entertaining Instagram Celebrity’ category. My top three favourite characters, hands down, would have to be:
1) the Karachi “burger” dude with the fake vocal fry and probably a deviated septum(what with all that snorting going on…) that came back from “abroad” and now won’t stop drawing comparisons. I mean, we all know someone like that in real life and sending Swineryy’s posts to them is a subtle way of reminding them when they’re being pretentious.
2) Lina Aunty a.k.a. the one who won’t shut up about “Shazia’s Dottuh”. When she’s not spreading rumours and speculating the actions of Shazia’s daughter, she’s making astute observations about the country’s socio-political scenarios. Definitely, a gem, even though she is definitely very very toxic.
3) WTA Or Wedding Table Aunty who just wants to get everyone hitched out of the goodness of her heart (bless her). From stories about her ex-husband to her advice on marriage, her “Hi, darling!” will stop you in your tracks and make you question your life choices.
Danish Ali – Best Use Of Humour In Social Media
I grew up listening to Danish Ali on the radio and even had the pleasure of attending some of his stand-up comedy shows back in the day. His deadpan humour is partially the reason why I am like this today (my apologies to everyone I know in real life) and he will always be the best when it comes to integrating brand deals and sponsorships into his content in the most organic way possible. So when I saw that he was one of the nominees for the PISA’21 ‘ Best Use Of Humour In Social Media’ I already knew I was going to vote for him. Plus, who can forget his hilarious comedy sketches on Youtube!
Kitchen With Amna – YouTuber Of The Year
Amna from Kitchen With Amna has been bringing us recipes every week for the past couple of years. From humble beginnings to now becoming a household name, Amna’s story is inspiring for many women in Pakistan who love to cook and want to pursue a career on social media. Her hard work paired with support from her family allowed her to make headway online and become the first woman in Pakistan to be awarded the coveted YouTube Golden Play Button. Kitchen With Amna has been nominated for the PISA’21 ‘ YouTuber Of The Year’ category and she is definitely a fan favourite at this moment.
Mooro – Vlogger Of The Year
Over the years Mooroo (Taimoor Salahuddin) has been creating engaging content for Pakistani viewers. From comedy sketches to edu-tainment videos and even a highly successful podcast, Mooroo is doing it all. However, his vlogs are where he shines. Dubbed as the Pakistani Casey Neistat, Mooroo was one of the few YouTubers who made vlogging mainstream in Pakistan and inspired others to produce similar content. Therefore, when he was nominated for the PISA’21 ‘Vlogger Of The Year’ category, I immediately knew I was going to vote for him.
