Sunsilk has once again gained the aduience’s approval after their latest AD film created quite a stir online. Over the years Sunsilk has never failed to bring a new inventive approach to conveying their brand’s message and this time wasn’t any different.
In their most recent campaign, “Baal Baal Bach Gaye”, Sunsilk takes us on a comedic journey of Sarah’s hair woes and tells us the story of how her hair went from being super short to super long and healthy thanks to the new Sunsilk Long and Healthy Growth shampoo with biotin.
How Sarah Escaped the Lambay Baal Associaton’s Totkas
It all begins with Sarah hanging out with her friend and her long locks getting caught up in everything, from seatbelts to zippers, there is no escaping it. We see Sarah’s friend comparing her hair to Sarah’s and feeling dejected. She finally asks Sarah for advice and how she transformed her hair seemingly overnight. And so, Sarah begins to narrate how she escaped the clutches of her ammi’s LBA (lambay baal association) and her khala’s totkas and was finally saved by her cousin and dadi who offered her the holy grail of hair solutions – the new Sunsilk Long and Healthy Growth shampoo with biotin!
Sunsilk Effectively Uses Humour In Their New Ad Film
Sunsilk successfully highlights how society pressurises women to have long hair in an attempt to improve their marriage prospects but how that’s not what long hair stands for in today’s day and age. Our society has finally moved on from the vanity surrounding long hair and now the conversation has successfully moved to what women want for themselves.
The AD film successfully portrayed sisterhood and women supporting other women – especially when Sarah’s cousin, dadi and friend stood with her in solidarity against her ammi and khala’s antics. Though the ammi is well intentioned we see how she will go to any lengths to safeguard her daughter’s future. Thankfully, the dadi’s comedic timing is there to save the day!
Overall, the AD film is a refreshing break from the typical shampoo ADs we see on the daily and we’re glad Sunsilk is helping change the narrative.
