Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2- An Analogous Version Of Zindagi Gulzar Hai?
Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 captivated the audience interest even before the first episode was aired. Was this inevitable? Absolutely! BALH2 is the reboot version of the 2011 Indian drama of the same name Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. The previous season received a lot of fame and was applauded for its story line and execution. And now seeing the rise in popularity of the second season we can anticipate the same reaction from the audience.

Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 is the story of Ram Kapoor (Nakuul Mehta) and Priya Sood (Disha Parmar). Disha and Nakuul are sharing the screen for the second time after they did their show Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara.
Is it the narration of two individuals who not only belong from different social backgrounds but have a completely different outlook on life. Ram is a successful business tycoon who dotes on his family and can sacrifice anything for them. He is a foodie, die-hard romantic and a big rain lover. He hides his sadness with humor. The happy-go-lucky Ram is shown to be heartbroken after his ex girlfriend marries his business partner.
On the other hand, Priya is a practical girl who is the eldest of four sisters. She belongs to a middle class family and has more to deal with than her shoulders can bear. The obstacles in her life have added bitterness to her personality. She was raised by a single mother (after her father abandoned her mother for not giving him a son). Many were quick to point out this track’s similarity with the classical Umera Ahmed’s drama Zindagi Gulzar Hai which featured the iconic duo of Sanam Saeed and Fawad Khan. Priya’s character often reflects Kashaf in ZGH but we most certainly aren’t complaining! After all we all loved Kashaf and Sanam Saeed for that matter.

Priya is a modern day example of a strong woman who fights her own battles and tries to overcome the obstacles in her path. She is honest and upright & holds firmly to her morals and values. Characters like her who refuse to bow down to the pressure exerted by society and follow their own path are an example to follow. Especially the contrast between Priya in season 1 and season 2 shows how the characters have evolved over the years as seen on our television screen.
Ram and Priya’s paths cross when they both try to get their brother and sister (who love one another deeply) married to each other. Overall, the drama gives us typical soap opera vibes but if you are in for some cliche romance you might want to tune in for this one!
