1. Shabbir Jaan as Jameel in Dil-e-Momin
What an amazing performance! As audiences, we can’t help but wonder how Jameel has the ability to find fault with everything. The way he portrays the role is so natural & reminds us of many real personalities among us who might throw us similar shades!
2. Shamim Hilaly in NZH
After a long time, we see Shamim jee in a negative role. Through her portrayal as Neeli’s mother-in-law, Shamim Hilaly makes us feel the sinister nature of her plans, the evilness within her character speaks to us, even across the TV screen.
3. Urwa Hocane as Neeli in NZH
What a charming performance, we are feeling for her every step of the way – the timid girl with dreams in her eyes. The final scene where Urwa’s subtle depiction of stifled cries & shock at her mother in law’s behaviour towards her is hugely impactful.
4. Hadiqa Kiani as Mehroo in Dobara
Hadiqa wins us with her apt portrayal of a woman discovering her independence but also retracting two steps back whenever she faces the harsh attitude of society. It makes us feel for her.
5. Sakina Samo as Phuppo in Dobara
So refreshing to see Sakina jee in a role which treats us to some comic relief to keep us engaged. Sakina jee you made us laugh so much with just the perfect expressions & reactions mimicking possible scandal & disbelief.
6. Bilal Abbas As Maahir in Dobara
Natural, superb, convincing & invoking sympathy, is how we would describe Bilal’s performance this week. He is keeping us entertained with his performance.
7. Ahmed Ali Akbar As Parizaad
Ahmed proves his talent yet again as we see the old, soft & humble Parizaad when he visits his family & friends. Body language, expressions & dialogues – every emotion came together to give us a glimpse of the old Parizaad without losing the new one.
8. Uzma Hassan as Kanwal in Ishq-e-Laa
Such an engaging, brilliant performance as the insecure, nakhreli biwi. Her use of facial expression, body language & posture communicates her aura as the nuisance maker in just the right way.
