How Parizaad Is Teaching Me To Be More Introspective & Less Superficial
So this post is about a quote I absolutely love in everyone’s fav on-air drama these days, Parizaad!
Why This Quote From Parizaad Resonates With Me
I love, love these words because of multiple reasons:
1. In today’s social media – filter heavy world, it’s all about putting on your best face. Sometimes it’s just a picture & people (myself included) might like it without reading or understanding the message it carries.
2. Content creators are aware of that on a subliminal level, and hence, often dilute the message or do not really pay attention to the message, just the ‘image’ they portray. Yes, there’s a pun there.
3. The physically gifted amongst us often have to fight to be heard (and this is in direct opposition to the quote above). Their beauty is so complete to us, that even if they try to, they are often unable to communicate everything they want to with their words.
4. Lastly, and most strikingly, the phrase totally explains the genius that develops amongst us. Often when we are not gifted with ‘traditional good looks’ we work so hard in bettering ourselves as humans that the world acknowledges our struggle. The point being, most triumphant people are not necessarily the ones who are attributed to be stunners in the looks department. Yet succeed they do. Through hard work, an inner belief, & also because the world will listen to their words more than look at their faces.
Let’s Look Inwards For A Change
I love it when I put up a completely unfiltered version on Instagram. I feel like I’m going against the crowd, rebellion is sweet. It’s no secret that we’re all involved in the race to better ourselves.
Yes. Helen of Troy might have launched a thousand ships, but Muhammad Ali Jinnah created a nation. I often read his quotes & get inspired. (Though he was a handsome man too).
So cheers to unfiltered, wordy me & you!
