Winter is the most awaited season for the Asian community as it comes with a variety of delicious food items like gajar ka halwa, soup, fish, saag and the list goes on. Along with food items, people prefer drinking tea and coffee more frequently to keep themselves warm, but did you know there are multiple options other than traditional black tea and coffee? 1) Almond and Turmeric Milk

Ingredients:
- Milk 1 cup
- Almonds 6-7 (soaked and peeled)
- Cinnamon stick 1
- Date 1
- Turmeric 1/2 teaspoon
- Black Pepper 3-4
Recipe:
- Add some milk, almonds, date, black pepper and cinnamon stick in a blender and blend it to make a thick paste.
- Take a pan and transfer rest of the milk in pan. Also place the pan on heat and add turmeric powder in it.
- Bring it to boil. Once the milk starts to boil, add the almond mixture.
- Combine everything well and keep stirring to avoid it sticking at the bottom.
- Turn off the heat and have it warm!
2) Pink Tea (Kashmiri Chai)

Ingredients for Kehwa:
- Water 4 cups
- Tea Leaves 4 tsp
- Badiyan ka phool (Star anise) 1
- Laung (cloves) 3-4
- Crushed Elachi 1/2 tsp
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Baking Soda 1/4 tsp
Recipe:
- Place a pan on hot plate and add water in it. Let the water heat for few seconds.
- Now add all the ingredients mentioned above into the warm water.
- Let the ingredients simmer in water for 20-30 minutes until it reduces to half.
- Now add 2 cups of chilled water in the pan. Mix well for 8-10 minutes. Strain and set aside.
- Kehwa is ready and can be refrigerated for upto 5 days.
Ingredients for Tea:
- Milk 2 and 1/2 cup
- Crushed Almonds 1/2 TBSP
- Crushed Pistachio 1/2 TBSP
- Sugar (optional) to taste
Recipe:
- Take a pan and place it on stove.
- Add milk and dry fruits in it and let it boil for few minutes.
- Add required amount of kehwa in it.
- Cook for few minutes and serve hot.
3) Ginger Tea
Ingredients:
- Water 2 cups
- Ginger 2 inch
- Salt (optional) a pinch
- Lemon 1/2 slice

Recipe:
- Take a pan. Place it on stove and add 2 cups water in it.
- Take two inch ginger slices. Smash these slices in Mortar and Pestle.
- Add the smashed ginger in boiling water and mix it well. Add some salt. Boil for 2-3 minutes on medium flame.
- Switch off the flame and cover it for 1 minute. Strain the tea. Also add some lemon juice in it.
- Serve hot.
