Yesterday, Ali Noor, the lead vocalist of the renowned band Noori, was accused of sexual harassment by Ayesha Binte Rashid. Ayesha, a journalist, came out with her claims on her Instagram account where she posted screenshots of her conversation (which seemed like a confrontation) with Ali Noor and blocked him right after. Ali, allegedly, messaged Ayesha from his wife’s number and apologised. However, Ayesha is calling it a “non-sense” apology and so are most people.
In her message, Ayesha calls out Ali for being “a womanising piece of shit with a God complex.” According to her, Ali emotionally manipulated her and sexually harassed her in the back seat of her car. She also confronted him for threatening to end her friendship with Kami Paul (Noori’s drummer). Ali Noor, in response, thanked Ayesha for “a serious wake up call and realization.”
The vocalist also posted a statement on his instagram stories that many cannot make sense of. However, people are pointing out that he allegedly “admitted to it” and apologised. He claims all of his messages were not shared by Ayesha. “I have been accused if Me Too by Ayesha Binte and my screenshots of apologies have been put up. She didn’t put all of them and that’s sad,” he wrote.
With his new single releasing on February 22nd, he also clarified in another Instagram story that this incident is not a “PR Ploy” and that he “will address everyone’s concerns and questions on the 25th” because he wants his song to release in peace.
People have mixed reactions to this entire scenario. However, most of them find Ali Noor’s apology unconvincing and aren’t happy with how nonchalant he is over a sexual harassment allegation. Soon after this news started gaining traction, everyone on Twitter was in disbelief and it caused quite the frenzy.
