Women entrepreneurs have taken over our Instagram feeds and we couldn’t be prouder. Running a business is more than just a past time or a hobby for women today, they are actually driving viable businesses. Some choose to do it from their homes, while others have managed to create a space for themselves outside their homes.

With International Women’s Day right around the corner, we at FUCHSIA, want to pay tribute to these women who have not just defied odds, followed their goals, and aced their businesses but, have also paved the way for other women to follow suit. They have set an example and given courage to those who could look at them now and think, If they can it, so can we! We all just need a little push before we achieve something extraordinary, right?
Below are some of our favourite women-led businesses that we love to shop from. Enjoy your shopping spree!
1. Dusk Candles Co

Dusk Candles Co is a small-scale candle store owned by Dr. Zeenat Amin who is currently doing her general surgery residency alongside managing her business. Their candles are aesthetically pleasing and come in 7 heavenly scents including Bulgarian lavender, Berry boost, Dark roasted coconut, Coconut and lime, Blooming Jasmine, French Vanilla and Feels like spring.
Dusk Candles also has custom body candles and provides details like stretch marks, birthmarks, cesarean section marks, cystic acne, and bacne on them. What really drew us towards her business is the fact that she is doing her part in normalizing real bodies which is rare to find, especially on social media. She provides these customizations free of charge. We absolutely love the thought!
The inspiration to make custom body candles came from my patients especially the ones battling breast cancer. I wanted to do something to create a positive body image around and fight the stigma.
