While we’re loving Hum Tum, starring Sarah Khan, Ramsha Khan. Ahad Raza Mir and Junaid Khan in the leads, we can’t help but appreciate the play for the points its raising, which are setting the bar high.

Here are 5 important points Hum Tum is raising. Do you notice them too?
1. Marrying A Divorcee Is Okay & Completely Normal

Maha and Sarmad is a love story in the works as Maha moves on from her previous marriage and aims to make it ahead in life. The drama has tried to normalize the fact that being a divorcee is okay and that it doesn’t stop you from following your passion. In addition, Sarmadis wholeheartedly ready to accept Maha and never once has doubted her and is certain she’s the right choice and their relationship can work.
What’s your take on this?
2. Marrying Someone Less Educated Than You
Not education and not salary, but mental capability is what matters. Respect for women & values should matter.
3. Bringing Back Dosti With Neighbors
Today’s hectic life has completely finished off regular contact & interactions with neighbors. Hum Tum reminds us of the good old days when neighbors were like family.
4. Taking Care Of Parents/Grandparents
Spending time with them & not treating them like an object in the house can lead to stronger & more connected families. We love the bond Daddu shares with the girls – from being there for him, Maha standing up for him in front of Qutab sahab, the sisters helping him make Tiktoks and even being a part of his videos have our hearts.
These little moments are the joys everyone needs to live for.
5. Breaking Out Of Predefined Gender Stereotypes

Sarmad cooking food at home and the brothers helping Mili with her hair & makeup is so refreshing. On the other hand, Maha is a fitness freak, Neha and her competitiveness make the drama even more fun.
Breaking the society’s set gender roles and stereotypes is something we’ve longed to see for a while and kuddos to writer Saima Akram Chaudhry for giving us just that!
