It’s not everyday that we get something different, something out if the box which attracts us right away. This year marked the return of the cinema, post COVID and we got to see some amazing films this eid. Dum Mastam, Ghabrana Nahi Hai and Parde Mein Rehne Do are some of the film’s currently playing in cinemas. Now, we also have an upcoming movie, ‘Kamli’ which has caught our attention straight away and here’s why.

Kamli is an upcoming project by Sarmad Khoosat, written by Fatima Sattar, under the banner of Khoosat Films. The upcoming film is a tale of ‘love, loss and cloaked secrets‘ and the trailer oozes out these three themes in the most perfectly artistic way possible.
The story is believed to be hugely female centric, following in the line of recent cinema where women are taking on center space!
The Star Studded Cast

The film has a star studded cast (all our favourite and the industry’s finest). Saba Qamar, Sania Saeed, Adeel Afzal, Nimra Bucha and Omair Rana are all set to hit the big screens. We will also get to witness the debut of Hamza Khwaja, who by the looks of it has potential for the screens. Based on a short novel by Mehar Bano, Kamli is seemingly a story which focuses on retribution. Vengeance or something more? We’re yet to see.

The trailer gives away just enough, no more, no less. We get to see some sizzling to see natural chemistry between Saba Qamar and Hamza Khwaja, whereas, we get to see Nimra Bucha and Omair Rana in negative roles, which we are super excited for.
Sania Saeed, we have no words. You mesmerize us with each performance and take us along on a journey. So many emotions, expressions in just a few seconds. You have us sold! Ap ka kia kehna.
Saba Qamar On Kamli
Kamli’s very different. It’s a story of three women, Sania, Nimra and I. All three characters have something missing in their lives, there’s a certain struggle. My character, Hina, the dialogues are relatively less and so for the most part had to work around with expressions to convey emotions. Films like Kamli have a separate audience. To understand it you have to be mature, sensitive and deep.’
What’s her favorite character from the film? It’s Nimra’s!
Why We’re Excited
Sarmad Khoosat also has Zindagi Tamasha coming up. Although it faced backlash and delays initially but is now set to hit the screens soon. Khoosat brings us unique, out of the box and intriguing stories and this one promises to be no different.
Kamli’s artsy vibes have us chipped in and we are awestruck by that breathtaking but haunting cinematography. Kamli is ready to hit cinemas 3rd June.
