Just In – Joyland Wins Jury Award At Cannes’22 In Un Certain Category!
Another day, another Pakistani makes us proud! ‘Joyland,’ directed by Saim Sadiq, has been chosen to be one of the 14 films to be screened in the ‘Un Certain Regard’ category at the film festival. The name means “a certain glance” and the section presents 20 films with unusual styles and non-traditional stories seeking international recognition. Joyland is the first Pakistani feature film to be selected for Cannes.

Interestingly, this isn’t Saim’s first rodeo, he also attended Festival De Cannes in 2019 for his directorial project, ‘Darlings.’ He is also known for his work in ‘Nice Talking To You’ & ‘August Sky.

Joyland Is Finally Releasing In Pakistan
Just in: Saim Sadiq just announced that Joyland will be releasing in cinemas across Pakistan on 24th November.
He has always maintained that his purpose behind the film was to release it in Pakistan. “I knew the intent was always to screen the film in Pakistan, this whole other thing of going to Cannes and stuff, that just happened. But I made the film to show it here,” he added.
