Angelina Jolie arrived in Pakistan yesterday to aid the flood affectees in Pakistan. Scroll down to know more details.

Angelina Jolie is the Special Envoy for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. After years of dedicated service to UNHCR and the cause of refugees, Angelina Jolie was appointed Special Envoy in April 2012.
Jolie’s new responsibilities include advocating on behalf of UNHCR and the High Commissioner at the diplomatic level and concentrating on severe situations that cause large-scale population displacements.
Jolie, who previously visited victims of the 2010 floods in Pakistan, and the 2005 earthquake, is currently in Pakistan again visiting the IRC’s emergency response operations and local organizations assisting displaced people.
She has reached Dadu’s Zamzama oil fields via a helicopter and will reportedly give aid to the flood victims in the surrounding areas, Dawn Images reported.
She will draw attention to the pressing need for aid for the people of Pakistan and for long-term solutions to the issues of climate change, mass migration, and ongoing instability.
We need immediate support to reach people in urgent need, and long-term investments to stop climate change from destroying our collective futures. With more rains expected in the coming months, we hope Angelina Jolie’s visit will help the world wake up and take action.
Shabnam Baloch, IRC Pakistan Country Director
Her visit will hopefully shed light on this matter and encourage the international community – particularly states with the highest carbon emissions – to take action and give urgent aid to nations suffering from the climate disaster.
