Sheeda in hot pursuit, Dilawer disappointed at Bakhtu’s decision to quit, Bakhtawar’s mom facing a full on Bakhtu melt down and Hooriya’s disappointment at the failed plan – lots happening in Bakhtawar and this is what stood out for us.
Inspector Mohsin is the silver lining in Bakhtawar aka Bakhtu’s very dark cloud. He not only refrains from disclosing Bakhtu’s reality to Dilawer but also points his attention towards the likelihood of Hooriya being involved in the missing ring fiasco. Not just that, but he suggests to Dilawer that the best way to help Bakhtu is to get his sister a job. Well done there Inspector, you think on your feet and we’re loving it.
On the other hand, we see that Bakhtu’s dealing with Sheeda in the chai ka dhaaba is just what we needed. He told him off on all fronts, refused to bow down to pressure to cancel the case against him, or submit to his demands to be friends with him, and, to top it all, he did all this with swag – that Rs. 200 with a ‘keep the tip’ added the cherry on top.
But every courageous act comes with a risk, and Bakhtawar will have to face the consequences of pushing Sheeda against the wall. He’s going to spill the beans on her, and that too, to her enemies, or even on social media. It is interesting how the drama is connecting the dots of the narrative by roping in the political angle here. Any damaging news can lead to a political crisis for both families – Dilawer’s and Hooriya’s. The events of the next episode leave characters hanging by a thread and us, the audience, curious to know more!
Bakhtawar’s mom is startled to see this side of her daughter – the angry, frustrated, boiling with rage Bakhtawar that she has only shown to the world as Bakhtu. Such is the hold of Bakhtu on Bakhtawar now that she expresses anger more as Bakhtu would rather than Bakhtawar.
It was a great performance by Yumna Zaidi once again as she flies into a rage, controls herself, weeps silently, then holds herself together before her mother, inspector Mohsin and even Dilawer.
