Kuch Ankahi Teaser Drop: is about strong female characters, women empowerment, family values and more, but right now, it’s also about the magical pairing of Bilal Abbas Khan and Sajal Aly, and that’s all that matters (at least for now)

If Bilal Abbas Khan & Sajal Aly fans could have asked for the moon, they might have got it. The first Kuch Ankahi teaser drop shows Bilal & Sajal,’s characters soon to be neighbours and already tormented by each other’s presence, tease viewers into wanting more. The lighter side of life is about to take over as Bilal’s family moves in and what follows will be a family drama with a healthy dose of comedy.
The Neighbour Plot – A Hit Formula
Interesting to note that Pakistani dramas have used the neighbour plot often enough to facilitate humour in the plot, from the recently aired Hum Tum to the classic Ankahi and more. What remains to be seen is that the comic instances can really tickle the funny bone, offer us laugh out loud moments and do all that with a message, in fact, many messages, as promised by the makers.

A Bird’s Eye View of The City & Witty One Liners
The teaser, though under a minute, showcases refreshing direction from Nadeem Baig with iconic architectural landmarks from Karachi and a big city feel. The dialogues throw off the signature Mohammed Ahmed witty one liners, from Bilal’s 10 to 15 years tenant agreement to Sajal’s desperate cry of help – ‘Amma’ that echoes tones of underlying dramatic exasperation. We caught a glimpse of Irsa Ghazal & supporting cast, whom we hope to catch more of, in successive teasers.
A Rom-Com In the Making
Although we have it from the makers that Kuch Ankahi is about family values, women empowerment, strong female characters and more, (and we certainly hope so) for now, the stage is set for a Bilal x Sajal family Rom-Com and the teaser did not disappoint fans from both sides. Well played there. The makers knows how to get our attention, and they have! The stage is set for January and now all we need is the Azaan Sami Khan OST drop to add to the Kuch Ankahi countdown.
The under one minute teaser delivered just what it promised, nothing more, nothing less. There might not have been any surprises, as in, we wanted to see these two superstars in action with an interplay of light comedy and sometimes, that’s all we need – no surprises, just meet the audience expectations and we’re in for a watch and a half! Seems that the people on the other side of the lens know the formula and will be following the rules of the game – so far, that’s working just fine!
