The Hunger Games Completes 12 Years

A Sci-Fi story “The Hunger Games” is an imaginary thriller which is taking place in futuristic North America with circuses and no bread. The movie is based on Suzanne Collins best-seller book from 2008. The movie has changed the way dark, thrilling and unsettling stories are viewed and followed by audiences. Moreover, the idea of reality tv shows has been picked up from Hunger Games.

Fandom And Crazy Fan Following

“The Hunger Games” was an instant hit and was appreciated by fans. The main protagonist Katniss Everdeen’s role is played by Jennifer Lawrence. She is brave, tough and selfless and carries a human touch in her depiction. Her costumes were cool to watch and were an instant hit among audiences and her dialogues were crisp and evergreen.

The character of Peeta Mellark is played by Josh Hutcherson and we love how he portrayed his role. Peeta is the most wanted fictitious boyfriend/husband every girl would kill to have. He is kind, determined and romantic and the fact that her can bake was an added plus in our books. There were other characters like Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth), Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) and President Coriolanus Snow (Donald Sutherland) and many more.

Facts That Became Fan Favourites

1. Jennifer Lawrence’s HairCut

To give the character the Katniss feel, Jennifer’s hair was continuously dyed, which damaged her hair and the dye made them thin, she had to cut her hair short. so much so that, she had to wear wigs in the last movie.

2. Never Meant To Be A Trilogy

The author of the novel Suzanne Collins only planned to write one book but after the success and end of the first book, she wrote other books too. We are glad that she did it otherwise, we wouldn’t have witnessed such an entertaining movie.

3. Reality TV And Iraq War Inspired The Hunger Games

The idea of Hunger Games began when Suzanne was watching television. Seeing reality shows and the footage of the Iraq War gave her the idea for the book which turned out to be a movie later. According to the author Suzanne Collins.” these two things began to sort of fuse together in a very unsettling way.”

4. Jennifer Lawrence Love Katniss’s Stunning Wardrobe

Katniss has been seen wearing plenty of stunning costumes by Jennifer Lawrence. Her favorite is however, the dress she wore during the Tribute Parade in Catching Fire.

5. Connection With Lady Gaga, Beyonce And Avril Lavigne

Hard to wrap your head around this fact? We thought the same, well the director, Francis Lawrence who directed Catching Fire and both Mockingjay films also happened to direct Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance, Beyoncé’s Run the World (Girls), and Avril Lavigne’s Sk8er Boi music videos. These singers have nothing to do with the story though.

6. Jennifer Lawrence Gave Josh Hutcherson a Concussion

On the sets for the first Hunger Games movie, Jennifer Lawrence told Josh Hutcherson that she could kick way over his head. When she tried, she accidentally kicked Josh in the head which ended up giving him a concussion.

Well, these facts are just the tip of the iceberg but there are plenty. We are waiting for yet another this year. let’s see what it has for us!
