Last night, film director Nabeel Qureshi tweeted about an unfortunate incident on his sets in Karachi whereby his crew was attacked, mishandled and their belongings stolen. The incident was shocking to say the least, there were children on the set as well, he tweeted the incident as he visited the police station to register his complaint. Karachi Police Responds.

We has been attacked by mov in PIB Colony/Jamshed quater martin road during shoot they got into the house we were shooting a hundred of people they harrases women/actresses, beat the shit out of crew, stole mobiles, equipment.
we are sitting here in PIB police station, they attacked like anything honestly this never happened before in karachi, they were equipped with weapons, they stole mobiles wallet they do not care about ladies they raise their hands etc.
We want Sindh Police & Sindh Rangers to take strict action against these ppl, to make example out of it. I request to my fraternity all the actors producers to make sure that this shouldn’t happened again to any of us!

Karachi Police timely responded to the call and necessary assistance was provided. FIR has been registered against the mob and 06 arrests have been made so far. Further investigation is in progress.
What happened at the location has been reported to the police. post this incident, other actors also reported a similar incident in the same vicinity during a shoot. It is critical that law enforcement agencies investigate and put a stop to any further crime in the area as the city dwellers need to be able to live a terror free life, and not feared for their personal belongings or injury to life or property.
Our Stance
Unbelievable and sad to hear about the incident that happened on the set of director Nabeel Qureshi, actor Hira, Mani and the entire crew. Strict action must be taken by the concerned authorities to avoid such incidents in future. If this unfortunate incident can happen with them, it can happen with anyone, anywhere.
Who is responsible? As citizens of the city, this is the time to raise our voice and demand a thorough investigation into the circumstances to ensure a speedy and just resolution so that the culprits are not only rooted out, but an example is set for any potential gang or stand alone individual not to take the law into their own hands in future.
