We witness the intelligence of the script once again. Kuch Ankahi shows brilliantly how our carelessly dropped comments and behaviors creates women and mothers like Shamo. Salman and Aliya finally have a conversation without fighting and oh we loved it.

Super Script
A round of applause for the dialogues between Sofia Phuppo and Aliya. The way the script explains the impact of sentences like ‘Haye 3 betiyan”? Kiya kero gi…. These sentences are another form of conscious or unconscious bullying that many amidst us are subjected to. It is amazing how the script makes us realize the error in Samiya’s mother’s decisions, but we do not have harsh feelings towards her. We understand that she is a representation of the thought process that exists among us.
It doesn’t stop there, and the drama proceeds to explain why Samiya is behaving in this manner. Such a sad reality that the pain she saw her mother going through has served to silence her, so much so that, despite being aware of the error in her judgement, she is agreeing to go ahead with her decisions. It is so heartening to see the drama showing how warmly the family takes care of the Hindu family. In fact, that there is actually no distinction between Faiths when it comes to relationships and relating to them on a human level.
Samiya – The Strongest Of Them All?
Oh, Samiya many of us feel you are weak, but maybe you are the strongest among us. To do something against your will, to sacrifice your happiness is the biggest sign of strength. And the way you kept saying: “Mein sambhaal loon gi” was just heart touching. Agha jee finally took the much-needed stand. Shamo cares about the world, and Agha Jee, about his daughters. It is endearing how he defends them.
Looks like Salman’s dialogue has come true “the blessing in disguise”. That heart attack to Shamo jee has actually worked out in favor of Samiya. Looks like finally Samiya realizes that seeing a daughter getting hurt or in pain after marriage will cause more pain to her mother and if she cannot handle it now, how will she handle it later on. This will be the rise of Samiya hopefully.
Salman is Winning Points!
Salman can not only make chapatis and tea, offer the right motivational advice, but is also winning us with his supportive and respectful attitude. The way he helped Aliya’s family with taking her mother to the hospital and staying there just made us give him some more brownie points. Salman and Aliya get a chance to finally talk to each other without fighting and without trying to compete with each other. Salman asks and Aliya responds by opening up in front of him.
And the Comic Relief!
Oh those plastic flowers in the bedroom :(. Oh Saif-ur-Rehman we are still feeling the immense torture from the sight of those …
