The Oscars 2020 are here and we’re looking forward to a starry night in Hollywood! Whether you are a regular Cine-goer or not, the Oscars hold their own charm, dazzle, magic and euphoria. If you can’t hold one in your hand, the next best thing is to read about them! Here we have some fun facts to get you started on the ceremony. Let the fun begin!

The 92nd Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 9 Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, which has hosted the event since 2002.
1. The Average Cost of an Oscar Outfit – We Can’t Afford it!
The average total cost for an A-list actress’ outfit is $10 million, but, that’s not all because the most expensive outfit in Oscar history was Cate Blanchett’s in 2014. It cost $18.1 million.

3. Do you Know how much the FIRST Oscar Ceremony Tickets sold for?
The first ceremony in 1929 — tickets cost $5 each and 270 people attended!
4. How many hours of man hours makes am Oscar Red Carpet?

It takes 900 hours for 18 workers to install the red carpet. That means over 37 days – more than ONE month! We think those 18 workers deserve an Oscar JUST for their time on the red carpet! Or at least a selfie on the celebrated carpet itself!
Also, the Red Carpet is over looked by bodyguards hired specifically to stop anyone from vandalizing it.
5. The Best Picture Nomination has the lowest budget, and highest rating!
Of all the Best Picture nominees for Oscars 2020, “Parasite” had the lowest budget and the highest Rotten Tomatoes rating.

It is also the first South Korean film to be nominated for Best Picture and Best Foreign Language Film.
6. Show me the Money!

Did you know? Actors who win Best Actor or Best Actress get an average 20 per cent pay rise.
7. Scarlett Johansson is worth her weight – in Oscars?
The Oscars 2020 Best actress nomination sets a record. The richest woman to be nominated for an Oscar is Scarlett Johansson, with a net worth of $165 million.

This year, she is nominated for Best Actress for her role in the Netflix film “Marriage Story” and for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Jojo Rabbit.”
8. Does the Oscars 2020 Goody Bag includes Cannabis products and valued at …?
The Oscars Goody Bag contains $215,000 worth of gifts.

Forbes reported that the 2019 bags had a variety of cannabis products, due to its legalization in California. Glenn Close donated hers to Charity.

9. Nearly a third of this year’s nominees are women.
This is the highest proportion ever. A record 64 women were nominated. Girl power has arrived and we’re loving it!
10. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s tear-jerking performance comeback?

We wish! But that one will be hard to top in 2020, or ever! But, wait for the big names who will serenade audiences both in the auditorium and at home.

Elton John is due to perform ‘(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again’ from 2019 biopic Rocketman while Cynthia Erivo will sing ‘Stand Up’ from Harriet.
11. The Oscars 2020 to pay tribute to Kobe Bryant
The ceremony will reportedly honour Kobe Bryant, his daughter, Gianna, and seven others.

Kobe won an Oscar in 2018 for best animated short film. He wrote Dear Basketball, an adaptation from a poem he published in 2015 on his retirement from the sport.
We assume the legendary Kirk Douglas, who passed away today, will be honoured as well!
12. Oscar Statuette worth $400

Yes, the 24-karat gold-plated Oscar statuette is valued at $400, which as you may know now, after reading our list above, is only a fraction of the monumental expenditure on this lavish cermony! But then again, the value of this one award far exceeds its literal worth – wouldn’t you want to hold one for life?
