As Sabaat closed curtains on a super hit show in 2020 and Mushk is turning out to be a nail biter, are Pakistani drama fans going to get a super hit from their two most loved stars? Hold on tight as we tell you what we know about Raqs e Bismil: the Sarah Khan – Imran Ashraf project that might just be a show stopper in the making!
After giving us a wonderful year of entertainment with its great projects Sabaat, Kashf, and Pyar Ke Sadqay. Hum TV is now launching a new mega Drama Raqs e Bismil. The drama is being anticipated with great excitement by fans on the internet – the reason being a star cast and a stellar production team behind the project. Directed by the very talented Wajahat Rauf, its a collaborated production of Momina Duraid and Shazia Wajahat.

The Cast Is Worth Half The Wait!
Casting is the backbone upon which any promising project rests its future success. Sometimes, a poorly executed project also becomes watchable because our favorite stars deliver amazing performances to save the project from the audience’s wrath. Raqs e Bismil boasts a uber-talented star cast that nearly guarantees a superhit project. You have to get something very wrong in the formula not to strike this one for a bulls eye!
Sarah Khan who impressed us with her exceptional talent in Sabaat is paired up with the experienced talented actor/writer Imran Ashraf for the first time.
Malika e Aaliya – a heavily melodramatic yet well executed family drama soap gave us a very talented actress who made her cameo worth watching in Mere Paas Tum Ho, and now she’s performing up to par in our beloved Prem Gali. Anoushay Abbasi will be playing a significant role in Raqs e Bismil.
Recently, Hum TV launched a very intense Drama Serial which stars veteran actors Sania Saeed and Rehan Sheikh in lead roles. Drama Serial Be Adab also casts a very talented young actor Momin Saqib in his debut drama serial. Momin will also be seen in Raqs e Bismil.
A former film actress from Pakistani Cinema, Zara Sheikh will also be making her television debut with Raqs e Bismil and fans can’t get over this news. She has worked in several Pakistani films including Tere Pyar Mai, Chalo Ishq Laraayen, and Sallakhein. Last year she did a cameo in the Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman starrer film Heer Maan Ja.
One of the most talented yet underrated Pakistani Actors, Furqan Qureshi who is currently being watched in Drama Serial Bharaas and has delivered a memorable role in Zee5’s web series Ek Jhooti Love Story, will also be seen in Raqs e Bismil.
And of course, veteran actors add a classic soul to make a project a master piece. Nida Mumtaz, Saleem Mairaj, Mehmood Aslam, and Rashid Farooqui will be playing important roles in the drama.

The Story (A Speculation)
Raqs e Bismil story line seems to be one which will ride on the strength of love, and how love as an emotion, can change a person completely? From the two teasers released, the story suggests that Anoushay Abbasi will be playing Moosa and Eisa’s (played by Imran Ashraf and Momin Saqib) sister, who falls in love with a guy. Moosa and Eisa being typical “ghairatmand” brothers from an extremely conservative background make all efforts to keep their sister away from her love interest and make her marry someone else. That’s when she curses Moosa to also suffer in love – Only then will he fully realize the strength of the emotion and the pain of losing a loved one.
Moosa will then fall in love with Zohra played by Sarah Khan – the story moves on as love transforms Moosa, as love does in our dramas, and perhaps, in real life?
Hold on to your analysis folks, this is after all, mere conjecture … we are basing our speculation on the teaser reveal and the fact that Raqs e Bismil is written by Hashim Nadeem whose dramas are usually based on ‘How Love Can Change A Person’ – Khuda Aur Mohabbathttps://www.imdb.com/title/tt11439562/ and Ishq Zahe Naseeb are the examples.

The Intrigue
The story can be speculated to an extent, but it cannot be predicted completely of course, there is an element of mystery (as there should be) – Zohra’s character is yet to be revealed. Zara Sheikh is making her TV debut and we’re curious to know how her character will be squeezed in the story.
The drama promises a 2021 super hit watch for the viewers – let’s hope it supersedes expectations and we get to watch an epic story unfold!
We’re hoping the story holds it together, if not, we still have Sarah Khan and Imran Ashraf to save the day…let’s hope it’s more than that though!
