3 Shonda Rhimes Shows To Start Binge Watching Now

Is it Bridgerton you’re watching, or perhaps old reruns of Grey’s Anatomy? Bear in mind that the hand that wrote these lovable stories was no other than Shonda Rhimes – the much loved writer who continues to charm us in new and familiar ways!

Shonda Rhimes is undoubtedly a legend in her own right. She is the writer of several phenomenal screenplays and has produced many shows which will forever have a place in our heart. She continues to amaze her audience with her inimitable skills. On her birthday week, we wish the living legend a very happy birthday from our side! As a treat for all her fans we have compiled a list of her three shows to stream from today.

1. Bridgerton

If you are still immune to all the buzz surrounding Netflix’s new series, Bridgerton then it is time for you to wrap up all your work and start streaming it right away to embrace the roller coaster ride of all the drama, romance, friendship it has to offer. It is set in 1813, London, narrating the tale of rivalry between the aristocratic families of England to find the best suitable match for their children. Among them is Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), the alluring and courteous young girl who aims to find her self a love match. The show is an adaptation of the historical novel, the Duke and I written by New York Times best selling author, Julia Quinn.

The aesthetics of the show are jaw dropping. From elaborate ball gowns, to exquisite jewelry; the show keeps you on hooked, and if this is not enough for you then there is the mystery element of an anonymous gossip columnist Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews) whose opinions are taken in such high regard that the Queen herself anxiously awaits her columns. Bridgerton is a fast-paced story which will certainly keep you interested till the very end.

2. Grey’s Anatomy

It is rare that a show continues to be conferred about and remains to be cherished by its viewers even after being aired on television for more than a decade. It is even more rare for a younger generation to watch a decade old show and love every aspect of it. Yet, Grey’s Anatomy has done just that. It has proven to be timeless and continues to be loved by people around the globe. It is a medical drama, primarily centered around five interns and their supervisors. The principal character is Meredith Grey who is played by Ellen Pompeo. She is the daughter of the living legend, Ellis Grey. From the outside her life seems perfect and enviable. However, she has enough on her plate to deal with. The show narrates her journey along with other surgeons about how they deal with the pressures of having a demanding job where they are dealing with life and death decisions on a daily basis and how, at the same time, they try to manage their personal lives.

As the story progresses, we are introduced to new characters with their own captivating plots. Grey’s Anatomy offers realistic insight into the hectic life of doctors and their everyday struggles. It is a show that will make you laugh out loud and cry at the very next moment and it also delivers enough aww-worthy moments. While you fall completely in love with some charters and hate others, you will nevertheless, hold strong emotional attachments to each of them.

3. Scandal

Scandal is a political thriller that run on ABC network from 2012 to 2018. It engaged viewers on the get go due to enthralling plot twists and characters. Scandal is the story of Olivia Pope played by Kerry Washington and her team consisting of three lawyers and a former hit man. Each has unique skills and abilities required to solve high end cases. Scandal gives us insight into the lives of the super rich and powerful including the President of America.

The show tackled the sensitive issues of racism, sexism, abortion and more. In addition to that, the Scandal made history as Kerry Washington was the first African-American actress cast in the lead role in a drama for 38 years.
