As Raqeeb Se carried us through yet another episode with mere dialogue & simple conversation, we liked the swift movement from intensely riveting to subtly amusing

Raqeeb se, nouman ijaz.

And just like that, we have another episode of Raqeeb Se, which give us more reasons why we are fans of the play.

From the shifts in tone, intensity, continuation of the story and screen time of each character, everything’s perfect but there are a few thongs on our mind!

What struck us

Was Maqsood Sahab being clever & foresighted by giving Hajra & Sakina an opportunity to spend time with each other? Prepping them for the future that awaits them?

Oh, why and how did Ameera agree to accompany him back? Did Rafiq Abba strike a deal with Maqsood Sahab? What could it be? Has Ameera been sent by Rafiq? Who knows? We can just wait and watch.

Hajra’s kaali zabaan was in action for sure as Rafiq caught a thorn in his foot!

Lighter moments

What we found really cute was the phone call (face to face) between Insha and Abdul. Wah bhai, kisi ko mana ho toh aisay!

How can we forget, we see a lighthearted story from Sakina’s bachpan. The tube well story brought a smile on our faces. What about you?

This episode blessed us with Hadiqa Kiani’s mesmerising voice. Just like Hajra, we wanted to listen to it too! But sadly, it was just a few seconds.

Where from here?

The likening of women to cattle has been a lifelong curse in our society. However, Sakina’s words, that even the cattle know better & treasure their female was a poignant reminder of our own gender biases.

The play touches various topics, making us intrigued for the next episode.
