Acne, what it is and home remedies you can easily try to control it naturally!

Acne is a common skin disease. It can happen at any age, during the prime teen years or twenties. At times its duration may last a few months and in some extreme cases, individuals may have to deal with it for an extended time period.
What causes acne?
To get a better understanding of how to treat acne, it’s important to understand its causes.
Our skin pore is connected to a gland which produces sebum, an oily substance. Sometimes, the glands may produce extra sebum, whuch may clog up the pores and lead to the growth of bacteria, which causes pimples and eventually, acne.

For some, acne may be a result of stress, infections, genetics or hormone changes with time. The following are a few remedies you can try yourself with ingredients easily available in your kitchen!
1. Honey and cinnamon mask
Both honey and cinnamon have anti inflammation properties and help fight bacteria.
Ingredients:
- 2 tsp runny honey
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Method:
Mix the two well to form a thick paste and apply it over your face. Let it sit for 30 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.

2. Apply green tea
Green tea contains antioxidants and anti inflammatory properties. Studies show that it reduces sebum production and prevents acne for those with acne prone skin.
Method:
- Boil a cup of water and pour it into a container with green tea leaves or bags.
- Cover the cup and let it sit for ten to fifteen minutes.
- Remove the lid and with the help of a cotton ball, apply the green tea to your face. Leave it on for about 20 minutes.
- Rinse off with lukewarm water.

For maximum results apply the green tea twice a day or overnight to let the green tea do its magic!
3. Aloe Vera gel
Yes, that’s right! We apply aloe vera on hair, rashes, skin burns, but did you know it also has acne reducing properties! The gel contains salicylic acid and sulfur which help in fighting acne.
Method:
