DUNK Drama continues to ride audiences on the suspense factor, as Haider & Amal move towards the ultimate showdown – and what a showdown it will be!

Dunk, Drama review, Pakistan, Lollywood, Bilal Abbas, Sana Javed
Dunk: Amal and Haider with their thrilling performances!

The unblinking eye contact; Haider’s overflowing with hatred & Amal’s throwing it right back at him, masked by guarded expressions – oh my, we have our plates full of suspense in every bite! She, the conniving strategist, he, the repentant, impulsive youth, whose conscience is pricking him now.

When Dunk drops the curtain every Wednesday night, Twitter is flooded with Bilal Abbas Khan’s prize expressions. From a lone tear rolling down his cheek to a defeated posture, shoulders drooping, wearing the uniform of one surrendered in battle – Haider emerges as a frail human being, fighting his demons alone.

And then we have Amal who takes over the screen with her quiet planning; evil is a small word to call an intense longing for revenge that she’s keeping under tight lock & key – till the time is ripe. Sana Javed’s poker-face expressions concede NOTHING – just as they’re meant to. It is, but small wonder that these two actors are pitted against each other, just like Sajal & Ahad in Yeh Dil Mera, except, this time, it is the woman who’s in control – or so we feel, for the time being!

Need we say that the battle between the 2 wages strong & despite the ‘wonderfully’ jarring OST (meant to enhance the sense of suspense & drama, we assume), we are watching, eyes glued, to Haider & Amal dance out their game plans in perfect synchrony. Or, (wait a minute), Amal is the one with the game plan, Haider is just falling in (to his utter ignorance). What is it they say about circus performers? The ring master (Amal) is doing a darn good job at keeping him tapping to the beat.

Why?

Because Haider is, so far, playing into her hands. Every enraged reaction, sarcasm, angered expression, is making her case stronger, as the saviour of the Haider household!

Onwards to the review!

Why is not a single person concerned about Amal’s beymol, beyloss concern for Haider?

Amal Jee, Konsay Ansoo Sachay Aur Konsay Fake Hain Mushkil Hai Batana?

We have to admit that Sana Javed has smashed her performance as Amal.

Safeer’s Affection Towards Amal

Safeer bhai, why would you leave the room Har Baar Amal Sey Baat Kertay Kertay? Perfect Moqa Hai, Haath Thaam Letay! Our very own Safeer bhai does his utmost to keep Amal and everyone around him happy. But we would love to watch the relationship dynamics play out between Amal and him. About time? What do you think?

If looks could kill, Haider would have killed Amal in this scene with the look he gave her.

We have to take a moment and talk about Haider’s killer look when he enters the house and responds to Amal.

Minal’s hesitation

Minal jee, itnee pareshaan kiyon hain? Amal ney to aap key dil ki baat bol dee, or are we mistaken? Minal is puzzled for sure and doesn’t really know what she feels towards Haider. Could you maybe guess what the reason behind her hesitation is?

The Protective And Understanding Mother

Thank you mom jee, you finally said what needed to be said to the Abaa hazoor. Wajah to maloom kero, why is Haider behaving like this? We can’t help ourselves but love Haider’s Amma jee in this drama. Laila Wasti is giving us real motherly feels from the very first episode. Her support, love and understanding towards her son is heart-touching.

To Ghana & Ghana’s mom, We Can Only Say – Our Heart Goes Out To You

We have to admit: our two favourite characters in this drama are definitely Ghana and Ghana’s mom. Their experiences were beyond devastating, yet we love the way Saira is trying hard to be the bigger & better human being, yet, letting her daughter be the final master of her emotions – and forgiveness! !

So, is Dunk Drama moving towards the ultimate showdown between Amal & Haider? We hope so…coz’ that’s what we’re rooting for!
