Dunk Drama you had us with the court room feels, but then came the legal proceedings & we were a bit stuck between drama & reality – wait a minute, did your really hire that lawyer Haider?

Rather,…

Do you really want to win this case?

The episode was intense, kept us riveted & rooting for Haider & Minal of course!

But fans have to wait patiently till they get the final revenge on Amal & the drama makers are staging a perfect (and sansani khez) build up to the grand finale… it is Dunk after all, remember, nothing is what it seems!

Lekin Humaare Kuch Sawaal (as usual)

How could Safeer overhear everything that Amal uttered behind closed doors? If there was an ongoing phone conversation there (with Haider’s phone in this pocket and Safeer listening in), perhaps better to have made it a bit more obvious for audiences who were left guessing?

Why did it seem that the court narrative was bent to show Amal’s lawyer winning all arguments?

  1. He pronounced Haider to be a mental health patient with no medical proof. He could have implied that he is, but he cannot definitively state this as a confirmed truth without medical evidence (correct us if we’re wrong) and Haider’s lawyer did not object to the mental patient term either
  2. He was leading the witness (Minal’s brother) by saying any brother would do the same and again, Haider’s lawyer said nothing.
  3. Amal’s lawyer stated at the onset that the entire family was eyewitness to the attempted rape but then later, it was revealed through Haider’s father’s statement that they entered the house after Haider had attempted rape. Again, Haider’s lawyer did not correct the earlier mis-statement that everyone was eyewitness to the rape attempt.

Point being, the court room played to the one-sided Amal narrative rather than showing balanced legal arguments from both sides. To push the narrative in the drama was one thing, but a court room battle demands more respect, rational arguments and yes, that can happen with the drama too – just watch SUITS and you’ll get a hint of what we’re missing folks!

It is great that the drama is bringing the story to the court room but a more balanced approach would have made it more credible perhaps?

On a final note, our heart went out to Haider & fans were relieved to see he hadn’t backed down & was very much in the game.

With the lawyer seemingly ineffective at her game, we are hoping Safeer’s testimony might change the game. Of course, there’s always Mrs. Anjum & Saira to play their parts as well.

Dunk we’re waiting for you next episode, but do tie up the loose ends, will you?
