Liaquat Ali Khan, Pakistan’s first Prime Minister, joined the All India Muslim League in 1923. He worked closely with the Quaid towards Iqbal’s dream -Pakistan. This Independence Day let’s pay homage to one of our heroes, Liaquat Ali Khan. Without his endeavour, determination and hard work independence would not have been possible!

Get To Know Liaquat Ali Khan, Pakistan’s First Ever Prime Minister!
Liaqat Ali Khan was as essential to the consolidation of Pakistan as the Quaid-i-Azam, Mohammad Ali Jinnah was central to the foundation of Pakistan. It’s said that he laid down the foundation of Pakistan’s policies and later worked on those ideologies too.

He was the man who refused to devalue currency when Britain & India did so. When the Indians threatened not to lift jute at the new price, Liaquat went to the growers, directly pleading with them not to sell at the old rate. If need be, the government of Pakistan would lift the entire stock, he assured the growers. The jute mills of Calcutta could not run without jute from East Bengal &, ultimately, the owners purchased at the new rate. This decision aided him to derive full benefit from the boom created by the Korean War & the country became more than solvent. His intellect had no rival! Therefore, Liaquat Ali Khan was known as Quaid-i-Millet, meaning, leader of the country.

Now, non of us can imagine the hard work and the battles our founders had to endure. We’re forever grateful for them for giving us Pakistan, the land we call HOME!
