Azaan Sami Khan & Sajal Aly romancing atop breathtaking mountains, and enter Yumna, with the most heart-melting expressions…

Ishq E Laa OST & teasers dropped over the weekend & it’s been an infinitely lovely kinda weekend. The lyrics spilt into my living room as Azaan, Sajal, Yumna & company took over the frame from romantic to emotive, sad, hopeful, defiant, and soulful … yes, these were the expressions that filled the frame under 4 minutes as Azaan’s tuneful melody breezed in to add wholesome perspective to a carefully directed bird’s eye view of what’s to come!
“yun chale hum, mun chale hum … tere bin jiya toh kya jiya mein saathiya”
Yes. Ishq E Laa has scored heavy over the weekend. First the double teaser drop & then the OST.
1. The mood caught me totally off guard – soft melody with lyrics to match
Azaan Sami Khan romancing Sajal Aly (or vice versa) across the screen as Yumna Zaidi watches on and then swiftly transitioning frames set across bright blue skies, water, sun, sea and a lilting melody are all we need to become (slightly) obsessed with the upcoming drama.
The OST eludes from letting us dwell on a story for too long as we shift to Yumna’s character – set amidst challenging circumstances, yet standing strong – the story seems to promise a riveting watch.
What was there not to love as the Ishq e Laa OST promised romance, thrill, mystery, suspense, social messages & a story delving into the spiritual?
2. An onscreen pairing that’s hitting the right notes
Both Sajal & Azaan are looking so good together onscreen. Just when we thought Sajal had aced all her co star onscreen chemistry, we land a surprise with these 2 sharing the screen and all set to win hearts.
It’s one thing to have fans rooting for your voice but quite another to ace it in the acting department as well – Azaan is making the crossover from singing into acting – a daring feat indeed, if he cares to scan the competition all around him…but dare we say, the frames look quite promising. Expressions are on point, our “dhadkanon ki dhund” seems to be warming up to a male lead who seems quite the hero. What? You’re not with us? Scroll down to catch the OST and you’ll know what we mean!
Azaan’s acting debut with Momina Duraid & HUM TV might have given him a head-start, but to play opposite Sajal can be both a blessing or a pitfall depending on how it goes – and two thumbs up for the young man’s courage, we think he just might nail this one!
3. Landscapes Are Always A Good Idea
Whether it was Yeh Dil Mera or Yakeen Ka Safar, taking on breath-taking Pakistani landscapes is always a good idea. As an audience, we are starved to see more of the green, we feel proud when we get to showcase a part of our country that doesn’t get enough flaunting, so a shout out to the direction people at Ishq E Laa for giving us just that. From winding roads to scenic bridges, the OST has, hopefully, given us byte-sized shots of what’s to come.
4. Two parallel stories promise intrigue, romance & drama
Yumna’s story runs parallel to Azaan & Sajal’s characters. The OST & teasers might have revealed just enough for us to know we’re headed for a story and a half, but where we’re headed is still a mystery. Yes, the OST reveals what we are in for – but keeps enough hidden to spark our curiosity. The narrative crosses multiple perspectives – from love feels to strong girl messages, spirituality to corporate lifestyle – everyone will have something to relate to in Ishq E Laa, and perhaps that might be its winning force.
5. A supporting cast to be reckoned with
If Sajal, Yumna & Azaan weren’t enough, we know now that a drama is as strong as the sum of its whole. And here the supporting cast is looking super good with Laila Wasti, Uzma Hassan, Sohail Sumeer, Adnan Samad, Usman Peerzada. Simi Raheal & more.
Uzma Hassan & Sohail Sameer have both recently taken on roles that leave an impression on audiences, and from the OST, it seems like we won’t be disappointed this time as well.
Viewers are also in for a pleasant surprise to see their favourite from Ehd-e-Wafa, Adnan Samad in Yumna’s storyline.
And, one more reason why the OST is winning, because, why not?
6. Attention to detail – the small wins make it big
The OST hits it out of the park with details that complete the look. From the staircase dressed in pink flowers, to a floating bouquet, from the bhutta eating Sajal to the quivering Yumna, the vase drop save and the perfume drop, the OST attention to detail accompanied by a soft background score that grows on you from the first play … Ishq E Laa, you just made it to our playlist.
If anything is lacking, it’s perhaps a reveal that might be a bit too much as we see wedding bells, mazar scenes etc that might have given too much away?
All in all, a very tempting package is on the way and fans are rightly excited not to let this one slip by!
