Captivating, spellbinding, and complimenting the spirit of the nation’s love for cricket as PSL 7 continues in full swing – these are a few words that can describe the trailer of Baarwan Khiladi, which was released on 11th February under the banner of Soul Fry Films, the project of Nina Kashif and Mahira Khan. The cricket-oriented series is all set to release on the OTT platform, Tapmad TV on March 5.
Scroll down to see the cast reveal!

Baarwan Khiladi is written by Shahid Dogar directed by Adnan Sarwar who has given us films like Shah and Motorcycle Girl.
Starring Danyal Zafar as Akbar and the YouTube star, Shahveer Jafry as Jahangir, Baarwan Khiladi immediately hooks the audience as the trailer begins with Danyal Zafar playing a great shot. After a star player’s resignation, the Lahore Cricket League is looking for a new player to fill his shoes. The tussle is between a street cricketer Akbar and Jahangir who is a spoilt brat. Eventually, Jahangir is preferred by the coaches due to his family being well connected, and Akbar is chosen as the 12th man- the Baarwan Khiladi.

As the rift between the two deepens, the story is likely to unfold with multiple layers that are not going to encompass only the cricket spectrum but might extend to rivalry, friendships, romance, hatred, power play and etc.
Undoubtedly, the highlight of the trailer was Fawad Khan who made a surprise cameo. Playing the role of Akbar’s mentor who did not get a chance to play for his country, Fawad Khan looked his part and captivated the audience in seconds.
In addition, we will also be seeing Kinza Hashmi opposite Danyal Zafar as the only female lead. Despite only sharing two scenes together, Danyal and Kinza have swept us with their chemistry and we are looking forward to seeing more of it on screen, interlaced between a substantial narrative. Previously we have seen her in the telefilm, Ruposh which also starred Haroon Kadwani. Looking forward to see her role unfold in the series!

Sarmad Khoosat will also be playing a negative role in the series. ‘He’s tough, unapologetic, and has just the right amount of evil to make you fall in love with his character!’ – read the captain of Tapmad’s Instagram post, introducing Sarmad’s character:
The ensemble cast includes Kinza Hashmi, Sarmad Khoosat, Saba Faisal, Hina Ashfaque, Mohsin Gillani, Shafqat Cheema, Mira Sethi, Usman Peerzada, Fawad Jalal, Salman Butt, Meer Yusuf, Ali Tahir, Khaqan Shahnawaz, Zarrar Khan, Sajjad ul Haq, Ali Abbas, Waqar Ali, Hammad Akmal, Umer Hayat Chaudhry. Fawad Khan and Shoaib Malik have made special guest appearances.
