So, What Is Wordle?
Wordle is an online word game. It can also be said it’s a modern-day cross-word puzzle or guess the word. Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? What’s more interesting is that there is a new 5 letter word to solve every 24 hours and users across the globe have the same puzzle! Meaning you can engage in a little competition of who gets the word right first!
Josh Wardle, the founder of the game is a software engineer from Brooklyn who made this game for his partner (ah, love in the digital age!) and soon shared it with close family and friends. Eventually, he launched it officially worldwide in October 2021, and it’s safe to say that it blew up.
How To Play
1. Start off by guessing a random 5 letter word, with the help of a virtual in-game keyboard.
2. From there, you have 6 attempts to guess what the word is. While you take your guesses, the tiles will change colors. If the letter is right, it’ll turn green, if the letter is right but in the wrong place, the tile will turn yellow and if the letter is not in the day’s word, the tile will turn grey.
(Sounds a bit challenging? Well, that’s where the fun lies, doesn’t it?)
You Can Start A Streak Too!
Don’t confuse this with Snapchat streaks. The Wordle starts a streak when you win two games in a row. The streaks keep growing when you consecutively win the word of the day but if you lose a game even once, the streak will break and you will have to start the streak all over again. Keeps your mind on the run, right?
