If ever there was any doubt about Iman Vellani characterizing the most anticipated female superhero in the MC universe, Ms. Marvel, is now all cast aside after the release of a four-minute documentary on the upcoming miniseries Ms. Marvel. If you ask us to describe it in one word all we can think of is CUTE!

For those who have been living under the rock, Ms. Marvel is a six-episode miniseries all set to release on 8th June on Disney+. It is based on the Marvel Comics featuring the character Kamala Khan a.k.a Ms. Marvel. The character of Ms. Marvel was originally conceived as a female counterpart to Captain Marvel. Created by Bisha K. Ali the comic book character will finally be seen on screens!
Ms. Marvel is the story about Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), a Pakistani-American teen based in New Jersey. She will be the first onscreen Muslim hero of Marvel Studios. Kamala is a normal teenager who fangirls over Avengers, especially Captain Marvel and struggles to find her place in the world and then one day finds herself living the life she always dreamt of!
The recipient of two Academy Awards, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy will be one of the directors along with Meera Menon, Adil El Arbi, and Bilall Fallah. In addition to this, Alyy Khan will be making an appearance along with Fawad Khan in episode one according to IMBD. Other cast members include Alysia Reiner, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Anjali Bhimani, Farhan Akhtar, and others.

My parents would give me 20 dollars of allowance every month and I would spend it on comic books. One day I picked up a Ms.Marvel comic as I have never seen a brown person on the cover of one. I read it and fell in love with it!

Iman talked about what she loved most about Ms. Marvel was how relatable her character was and how it gave her the message that “she was not alone”. For Iman, she was captivating, fun, and a kid just like her who had the same problems!
” I went to the thrift store and got a blue dress. I did the whole thing and everyone in school asked me if I was the flash.” Said Iman with a sigh.

Sana Amanat who is the co-creator and the co-executive producer of Ms. Marvel also shared how she wanted to create a character who looked similar to a fan like her or her nephew and nieces. She praised the love that Iman has for comics.
Likewise the rest of the team shares the same sentiment and feels that Iman was destined to play Ms. Marvel.
Kamala Khan is a girl living in the Jersey city who is given the power to become a part of the world she always wants to be a part of.

Furthermore, it has been made official that Ms. Marvel will be part of the next Captain Marvel movie!
On a concluding note, Iman expressed that she feels the pressure as she realizes that this is going to be the first of a lot of things. However, she knew she had to audition for this role as otherwise, her 10-year-old self would hate her!
The four-minute documentary was a treat to watch for all the MCU fans. Though Pakistani fans were deprived of this delight, it is now time for them to put their chin up as Ms. Marvel will see the light of the day in cinemas. The series will be released exclusively in the theatres in three parts. Episodes one and two will be released on June 16, three and four on June 30, and five and six on July 14. Aren’t we all excited?
