‘London Nahi Jaunga’ is an upcoming Pakistani film all set to release this Eid-ul-Adha. A few days back the makers released its trailer at a trailer launch held in Karachi. Since then, the film has been the talk of the town. The main cast includes Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat, Kubra Khan, and Gohar Rasheed. FUCHSIA magazine recently hosted the team and had a fun chat with them where they revealed interesting details about the film (some of which were never told before)!

London Nehi Jaunga

Directed by Nadeem Baig, the cast of ‘London Nehi Jaunga’ includes Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat, Gohar Rasheed and Kubra Khan, Wasay Chaudhry, Saba Faisal, Iffat Omer, and others.

After a 2-4 year hiatus due to covid, Pakistani films are back in cinemas. The previous eid gave rise to some heated debates on foreign films vs local films. This is what Humayun Saeed had to say:

Pakistani film jab hit hoti hai Pakistan mein, toh wo kisi bhi Indian ya Hollywood film se ziyada business karti hai

Humayun Saeed

He said it with complete confidence in the Pakistani audience. Putting the foreign films debate to rest gracefully, he went on to state:

Hum se bhi log itna pyar karte hain ke agar unko film achi lag gayee toh Insha Allah bara business hoga, phir chahe koi aur film hi, chahe Hollywood ki ya Bollywood ki.

Humayun Saeed

Here are 5 things we found out about the much-anticipated film!

1. The Need For Social Messages In The Film

The cast of the film, ‘London Nahi Jaunga’ was pro at giving social messages in the film. Humayun Saeed who also works in the capacity of a producer as well as an actor said that he has always tried to integrate some kind of message in his films and ‘London Nahi Jaunga’ is no different.

Mehwish Hayat also believes that artists have a responsibility upon their shoulders and that not using their power and influence is a “disservice to their country as well as the world.”

“I understand the privilege that I have and I try to use the influence and power that has been given to me by Allah for better use. As artists, it is our responsibility to make things better through our work, words, our social and humanitarian work. Life is going by and while we have the power and privilege, we should use that.”

Mehwish Hayat

Gohar Rasheed added further to this discussion and believed that change takes time and we cannot expect it to happen overtime.

“Everyone is aware individually. People are more aware due to social media and there is also acceptance to a certain extent. But it takes time for things to evolve.”

Gohar Rasheed

2. Their Equation On The Set

The cast made interesting revelations about their equation with each other on the set. In fact, Humayun and Mehwish revealed that when they met each other for the first time they found themselves in the middle of a conflict and even threatened each other to go to court! Eventually, the conflict was resolved and there was no looking back!

The cast was happy to discuss Mehwish’s vibe on the set on London Nahi Jaunga:

Mehwish bare mazedar tareeqay se set par aateen hain, aur jitnee der rehti hain, mast hot hain apne aap me” Humayun on Mehwish Hayat’s entry onto the set.

Isko koi tension nahi, bus saamne sheesha dikhado, Zindagi set hai sabki!

Humayun Saeed said laughingly.

Gohar found it hard to play his character as he feels that he has been accustomed to doing complex roles. He even revealed that he was scolded a lot by Nadeem Baig on set!

“I was the punching bag on set.”

Gohar Rasheed

3. The Hurdles During The Making Of The Film

The team told us that completing this movie wasn’t a piece of cake and there were some setbacks in between. Firstly, the film got delayed due to Covid but Humayun is confident that the storyline is still fresh even though it was four years ago!

“Khalil Sahab’s writing is timeless and even after 10 years, it would still be relatable. We haven’t explored the concept yet and it was and will remain relevant.”

Humayun Saeed

The cast really enjoyed doing the stunts and Mehwish shared a time she got bruised:

“In the scene where people were behind me, I had to run in order to escape them. On the location, the trees around me had spikes and once while running I bumped into them and got bruised.”

They touched upon the songs and how they found it difficult to memorize the lyrics because they carried a very fast beat.

4. Why Should People Watch The Film?

Humayun Saeed is optimistic about his film’s release and believes that people take ownership of their actors and a good movie produced in Pakistan will generate far more revenue than any other foreign film.

“People love us so much that if they like our film then In Sha Allah we will do good business no matter which movie is released, even if it’s a Hollywood film.”

Humayun Saeed

And that’s why London Nahi Jaunga has raised expectations. The cast has put their minds and hearts behind this one and we’re looking forward to some stellar entertainment this Eid!

Humayun believes that Pakistani people appreciate good entertainment and if they liked ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’ they are likely to enjoy ‘London Nahi Jaunga’ as well.

“There is not a lot of entertainment for people in Pakistan and people want to watch a good movie. Also, people who liked ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’ are likely to enjoy this one as well. Secondly, it is important to watch Pakistani movies. In fact, they should also go and watch ‘Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad’ as well.

Humayun Saeed

Gohar Rasheed feels that the film caters to a large audience and even senior citizens will like the film and relate to it.

Mehwish was also all praises for the film and had this to say:

“There are a lot of great actors in the film and the dialogues and the performances are top-notch. It is a treat (to watch), and not just a visual treat you will also see top-class performances.”

Mehwish Hayat

5. Humayun’s Secret Panel Of Film Critics!

Humayun Saeed revealed that he and Nadeem Baig choose a set of people to watch their film after it has been edited to get necessary feedback and also make necessary changes if they think it is imperative.

“I show people who judge and those who don’t judge as well before the movie is released. Me and Nadeem Baig both do that. Some of those are also the helpers in my home.”
