This week, on our Spotify Playlist, Ali Sethi is on repeat. Bring the calm to your weekend with this handpicked playlist!

Ali Sethi, who rose to fame with Dil Jalanay Ki Baat Kartay Ho for The Reluctant Fundamentalist in 2012, is on our radar this week. He has blessed our ears with pop, classical, ghazals and so many genres, making us love his craft even more. Having a wide fanbase and receiving love from across the border, Sethi has won the hearts of many; people listen to his music and are mesmerized by his vocals. Some even listen to him without knowing the language but still enjoy it to the max. That’s a win for an artist!
According to Spotify, he has nearly 6.6 million listeners monthly. His Coke Studio sensation ‘Pasoori‘ has over 345 million views and earned a spot on Spotify’s ‘Viral 50 – Global’ chart. He’s on a roll and we love to see it! Here are the songs we’re listening to this week!
1. Chan Kithan
This song is the perfect to bring the calm after a long and hectic week. It takes you on a soulful journey and feels like a warm hug which has the power to fix anything.
2. Chandni Raat
This song, released in 2019, was in collaboration with Grammy award winning producer, Noah Gergeson. A cup of tea, rooftop and Chandni Raat playing in the background gives immaculate vibes!
3. Ranjish Hi Sahi
Ali Sethi’s version of Ranjish hi Sahi was an ode to Shahenshah-e-Ghazal, Mehdi Hassan, on Coke Studio Season 10. The ghazal was originally composed by Nisar Bazmi, written by Ahmad Faraz. Ali revived the classic with his soulful voice and gave us something to hold on to forever.
4. Ishq
This one’s got a nostalgic feel to it. You know that one thing you want to hold on to and not share with anyone? It’s this song for us. Plus the aesthetics of the video set the tone, feel and suit the lyrics of Ishq perfectly!
5. Pasoori
Pasoori needs no introduction. On our playlist for the past few months and we’re not getting tired of it anytime soon either. Ali Sethi and Shae Gill were the combo we never knew we needed. Children, adults are fans of this song, and how could they not be?
6. Mundiya
Originally sung by Madam Noor Jehan, Mundiya is a playful song with a catchy beat which will have you up and dancing within no time. The conversation through music between two people has never seemed as playful or sweet before. Shout out to QB too for her vocals and matching the vibe.
7. Dil Ki Khair
Poetry by the maestro Faiz AHmed Faiz, produced by Noah Georgeson, Dil Ki Khair is not to miss. Maybe we love it because of the reality it depicts? Happy on the outside, sad/anxious on the inside. It’s a song which calms us on a bad day and has the magical power to make all the pain go away.
Listen up on all with our Spotify playlist. Enjoy!
