Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team has lost the Women’s Asia Cup semi-final with Srilanka by just one run. Although it is a tough pill to swallow, our hearts are swelling with pride that we had come this far! Now, of course, Twitter is divided between the optimists and pessimists. While some are bucking up the players and appreciating them for their praise-worthy performance, others are frustrated that we lost the match after coming so close. Scroll down to get the Twitter talk!

The Critics

“Pakistan Women could not hit a single boundary in the last 25 balls of a run-a-ball chase & hit only 3 in the last 95 balls.

Apart from Ayesha Naseem, Aliya Riaz & Nida Dar, we don’t have any batter who can hit a 50m six. They need a power hitting coach more than ever.”

“Pakistan women team failed to chase 18 off 18 even when captain Bismah Maroof & Nida Dar were on the crease while experienced Aliya Riaz to come. It should be asked to this senior girls that what actually happened & why they failed from such easy situation?”

It is important to realize that we got this far and gave Srilanka tough competition. Let’s give the girls a breather and not jump to conclusion as soon as we face a hiccup in cricket. Well played, girls. Better luck next time!
