Pakistan vs India matches are nothing less than a thriller. The super 12 clash between the arch-rivals was definitely a nail-biter! However, Pakistani cricket fans were heartbroken as India walked away victorious in a nerve-wracking game at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Pakistan Vs India

But the Indian victory comes with a lot of questions from the cricket community. The reason was the controversial death over when Muhammad Nawaz apparently bowled a no-ball. The controversy further escalated when Virat Kohli was bowled on a free hit yet he managed to run gathering a total of 3 more runs to his name.

It Was Not A No Ball?

“a foot outside the crease, never a no ball. absolute disgrace.”

“Shameful Umpiring by #ICC apparent top brass – got under pressure at such a stage – disgraceful – @iramizraja it’s time to show some guts and register official complaint and review against the #NoBall. Even the next one was a #DeadBall @babarazam258 @TheRealPCB @ICC“

Did India Get An Unfair Advantage?

“THAT WAS NOT A NO BALL. THOSE 3 RUNS AFTER KOHLI WAS BOWLED SHOULDNT BE COUNTED. WE HAVE BEEN ROBBED.”

“Apparently the ball is supposed to be dead if it hits the stumps and they still ran for 3 runs… not sure what to even feel about all of this”

“That has got to be one of the worst referee-ed games I’ve seen. That no-ball? Give me a break. And that bowled/3 runs? What is this, gully cricket? #INDvPAK”

According to the ICC rule book, “The one run penalty shall be scored as a No ball extra and shall be debited against the bowler.  If other Penalty runs have been awarded to either side these shall be scored as stated in Law 41.18 (Penalty runs).  Any runs completed by the batters or any boundary allowance shall be credited to the striker if the ball has been struck by the bat; otherwise they shall also be scored as Byes or Leg byes as appropriate.”

Virat Kohli Take A Bow!

Rivalry aside we can not ignore the fact that Virat Kohli played some phenomenal innings today!

“Kohli has played a million shots…plethora of outstanding shots too. But considering the pressure (28 off 8 balls) and the difficulty in executing that shot…it was the best Kohli shot that I have seen. Unbelievable.”
