You would have told us that Pakistan will qualify for the semis till yesterday, we would have had a good laugh. But what can we say unpredictability lies in our DNA. Pakistan has done it once again by defeating Bangladesh by 5 wickets.

It’s only Pakistan that can go from standing on the brink of the exit to sealing a spot in semis in a span of one week. (Special thanks to Netherlands though)

In the wise words of Harsha Bhogle,” Everytime you make Pakistan favourites they find a way to lose. You tell them you got no chance, you are finished and they’ll come back and they’ll play wow cricket”

Let’s find out how Twitter reacted to this thrilling twist of fate.

All Hail Netherlands

Some Criticism Of The Opening Partnership

“Babar Azam is hardly middling the ball. Rizwan is continuously talking with him and giving confidence. It’s very painful to see batsman like Babar Azam is struggling.”

“Pakistan needs to find two modern T20 opening batsmen. Fakhar Zaman exists. Mohammad Haris has shown he can do it. Send Babar at 3 and Rizwan at 4. If you lose two early wickets they can stabilize but wasting powerplays and putting pressure on the team regularly is nonsense.”

“@babarazam258 we need fire power at the top with batters who are showing clear intent like Haris and Shahdab. Plz consider Haris opening with Riz and you one down followed by ur next best hitter. You should be rigid on winning the match and flexible on a balanced batting line up”

If there is one thing this tournament has taught us its that never say never because miracles do happen! We wish all the luck to the Green Shirts for the semis and hope to see them play the finals.
