Here’s What People Have To Say About Karachi Eat’s Last Day!

Karachi Eat CLosing - What went wrong?
Karachi Eat CLosing – What went wrong?

The most awaited event Karachi Eat started off quite well but the closing day was not how it was supposed to be. Although, we appreciated the management and security on day one that except for bad mobile phone reception, long queues and the presence of 2 checkpoints was a bit cumbersome, unfortunately, the reports coming in from the closing day are no good news. The three-day event wrapped up in chaos and the crowd was made to leave through the emergency exits. Musical performances were halted and the event was terminated.

At that time, the performer and Singer Kaifi Khalil had to stop his performance midway and depart the venue. He took to his Instagram and expressed his disappointment over the setback. He mentioned women were harassed and treated inadequately by some men and he had to terminate his performance mid-way and leave the event to protest against the ongoing harassment.

Here Are The Details As We Are Getting Them In

Women who were present at the venue have shared their experiences on their social media accounts. Many people are blaming the management for not announcing that they were going to close the gates at 8 PM and single men who forced their entry onto the premises before the gates were closed. Some of them did not have the tickets, and some allegedly scaled the walls and entered illegally into the venue. Some blamed that there were major lapses in security because they couldn’t handle the situation properly and they should have taken extra measures and ensured safety. A number of people got separated from their families and friends due to the huge crowd and got lost and couldn’t be located due to poor phone signals.

“One of the worst Karachi eat I have been to and possibly the last. Horrific management, no control over people felt like area was under 250% capacity”

“10 years of Karachi eat, and today was the worst. Stags broke in from sides, threw bottles at Kaifi, he left in the middle, Young Stunners refused to perform cause of this chaos. #KarachiEat“

Women were being harassed and mistreated by a group of single men who entered illegally. The event was supposed to be family-only but turned out to be the opposite. Some also said they saw a bunch of people breaking the barricades and gate-crashing the venue. Apparently, bottles and other stuff were thrown at the artists.

“Stags broke the gates and forcefully entered #KarachiEat today. People are saying that they literally had to leave through spaces between walls and jump off them to get out of the chaos. Please ban such events in the city if security can’t be managed.”

The most awaited event of the city had come to an end and that too on a sad note. The closing night was supposed to be memorable and it was indeed but for all the wrong reasons. The crowd witnessed a stampede and women were made to leave the event through emergency exits.

However, there is no official statement from the organizers of Karachi Eat, we are waiting to hear from the management to understand what caused the chaos.
